Her leg size has nothing to do with hitting the wall in longer distances. In longer distances, she is just misplacing herself. You cannot determine her "power advantage" by looking at her legs. There are plenty of people with smaller legs that are much faster and powerful than her? Just stop with this leg size stuff.
So why wouldn't more muscle, assuming you have a decent mix of the right fibre type, be an advantage for a female? And this long list of puny 18yo who are faster than her (excluding drugged-up, age-cheating Africans and Eastern bloc commies)?
I suppose Ajee Wilson didn't derive any benefit from those tree-trunk legs of hers either.
Don't compare Alexander to that train wreck.

She looked very smooth. Paced by her teammate who went about 600 metres or so. She seems capable of going sub 2 in a very fast race. She has great speed and soon as she gets some strength she'll be the new Cain.

LOL " legs the size of tree trunks" cutie pie needs to lay off the squats unless she aims to be a sprinter.

You can not determine how strong someone's running muscles are just by looking at their leg size. For example, the Africans that you just mentioned are skinnier than her and would leave her in the dust. Being or not being an age cheat has nothing to do with this.
Yes, you are correct. Wilson did not derive any benefit from her "tree-trunk" legs. This isn't bodybuilding. Appearance is irrelevant.
Sounds like it was her teammate McKayla Fricker
She's riding a wave.
How many other 1500 runners have run 2:01 this year? She's got a great chance of making World's with four slots available.
If those are "tree trunks", I would like to run in that forest! Good god you little manlet guys are messed up in your aesthetics.
I always thought she had underdeveloped her 800. Good to see her on track, with an excellent teammate. If she goes sub-2:00, she will clearly have the greatest range 800-5K cross of any High School girl ever. Probably already does, really.
So far, just Barringer, I believe (2:00.79). I didn't think much of her chances of making Worlds, but at her rate of improvement...who knows? Track and Field News only rated her ninth on their first formchart, but if she can get down to 4:04-4:05, she'll surely move up.
I think Rowbury is almost a sure thing, after that, Moser, Mackey, maybe Brown, Uceny if she can get her mojo back, Cain if she comes around. I'd still give her a strong chance.
True frosh Rodgers just ran 2:01 to win PAC 12s. American w800 talent continues to reload.
Cain third on formchart? How old is this ranking?
Since Simpson won the DL 1500 title last year, she gets an automatic bid to the Worlds. So the US will get four slots at the Worlds, not three. That opens things up a bit.
Alexa may have just answered all of the questions about going pro. If we examine the NCAA lists as they sit now:
800m Run
Alexa Efraimson SR High School 2:01.13
1 Goule, Natoya SR-4 Clemson 2:01.32
2 Williams, Chrishuna SR-4 Arkansas 2:01.61
3 Rogers, Raevyn FR-1 Oregon 2:01.67
1500m Run
Alexa Efraimson SR in High School 4:09.43
1 O'Connor, Leah SR-4 Michigan State 4:11.04
2 Houlihan, Shelby SR-4 Arizona State 4:11.06
3 Quigley, Colleen JR-3
The time is good and she looked really good. Being that her pacer was leading and looking strong, he probably missed an opportunity to PR as well. This race lets people she why it is difficult to rabbit a fast race and why Mo will probably never come close to the 5K and 10k records. It is hard getting a rabbit to go 3/4th of a race when you would need to be in almost as good as Mo and give up your own shot at glory.

Many, actually most, posters were ridiculing 'the Decision'. The LRC community is very pro-NCAA, mocking all (including me) when suggesting that such a route (college recruitment and competition) is not wise or in an athlete's best interest. Well, the facts as cited by the poster above speak for themselves.
The NCAA IS, in fact, a waste of time for anyone with any significant talent. El G and his coach both said so (see Chris Lear's Sub 4). At this point, the young lady's decision is not worth questioning. That the NCAA is a joke is officially beyond dispute!!
Until she actually runs next year, the pro vs. college debate can not be decided. In fact, it should be viewed over the 4 years that she would be in college plus how she compares to college graduates that go pro after they graduate in 4 to 5 years. People always judge (both ways) with insufficient data. This may be her life peak or just the start of things to come. Personally I think she is talented and just ahead of the curve on training.
She's really done a good job this season in bouncing back from some falls/stops, and certainly stamped herself again as one of the top prospects in the women's side.
On another note, Ajee Wilson was finishing 5th at Worlds and running low 1:58's at the same age this chick is now.
No love for the woman's 1500m winner in a new PR of 415? Fiona Benson - the pride of Tom's Lake, BC.
What does this have to do with Alexa? Ajee is a phenomenal runner and this site is full of her fans however I would say that she ought to get more recognition. However part of the reason she is not spoken about as much is because she, herself is understated and not a big self-promoter. Anyway Alexa's main event is not the 800 it is the 1500. This is why her new PR is such a big deal. She ran a world class time in an event that is not her primary one. As good as Ajee is, I'm not sure she'd be able to break, I don't know 4:15 in the 1500.
