I messaged RD for Cleveland Marathon. Will email Arizona and Akron today
Interesting case here. I was looking at this past weekend's marathons, and was particularly interested in the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon. Looking at the course map, it seems there are multiple opportunities to cut the course. I have no background information on how tough it actually is and how responsive the RD is to issuing DQ's or checking the splits. However, I decided to start clicking through the results starting with the slowest BQ times, to the fastest.
I came across a runner that had a B.Q. time and no splits in the 60-64 aqge group.
Cleveland Results
2015 3:51:13 - No Splits
2014 3:52:59 - No Splits
2013 3:53:46 - Only Split at the Halfway Point
2012 4:09:55 (Splits not available on site)
RNR Arizona
2015 3:55:47 - No Splits
2013 3:51:04 - No Splits
Akron Marathon
2014 - 3:57:09 - has a split at 25.8 only. Took him over 5 minutes to finish the last .4
2013 - 4:52:09 - 1/2 split and 40k split only - This is the earliest marathon in the group. Missed multiple splits. This one is puzzling given the finish time is just under 5 hours. He missed early splits. Maybe he misjudged..His other times above are incredibly consistant.
I searched photos for Cleveland Marathon. Only finish line photos appear. I also looked at the 2015 PF Chang's Rock 'N Roll Marathon..Only 2 photos that aren't right at the finish line.
In summary, there are 7 results that need to be questioned. All from Cleveland, Akron and RnR Arizona.
If anyone comes up with anything else of interest, post below or email me.
