As close as it was, I don't think anyone was going to beat Silas Kipligat on this day. Second was within Blankenship's grasp however. Blankenship ran in the middle of the pack until the last lap and was in it to win it in the final 200m. If Blankenship had a clear lane in the final 100m he could have made it very interesting. As it was, he was trying to squeeze by on the rail.

Birech wins the steeple virtually solo in 8:05:37. Meanwhile Barshim beats Bodarenko with a 2:41m jump.

WHY DOES EVERY MEET PROMOTER JUST PUT A RABBIT IN EVERY RACE WITHOUT THINKING. I personally think rabbits should be rare and should NEVER be in a race where the field doesn't go with it. If they don't go with the pace, slow down or step off the track.

Or the meet director should say, if you request a rabbit and a certain pace and don't go with the pace, we are reducing the prize money by 50%.

Exactly. The rabbit is contracted by the race organiser to run a set distance in a pre-determined time. That's their job, and they should be paid for completing their task. If the rest of the field, who demanded that the race organiser supply such a rabbit, don't make use of the rabbit, then the cost of providing the rabbit should be deducted from appearance fees. Use it, or lose it.

Whats the point in having pace makers anymore in the Diamond League races? No one goes with them - pointless.

Im watching eurosport 2 on www.crich.in. Its free and can watch loads of different sports channels. Ive never had any problems.
