Here is the thing. The Colts brought up the idea that the Pat's footballs might not be properly inflated to the league before the game. OK, that is fair.
The league then decided to have a sting rather than warning NE to make sure they followed the rules. (Like they did for teams breaking the rules by heating footballs.) OK, fair, but not really, if all you want is the rules to be followed.
However, instead of doing things professionally and well prepared, the refs go into the game with two gauges that are calibrated 0.4 pounds differently. Instead of measuring all the footballs for both teams and writing everything down before, at halftime and after the game, they only manage to get a few numbers at halftime and guess the rest from memory.
This is just like the cop who tries to say you were speeding when he hasn't calibrated his radar gun in 6 weeks and can't find his copy of the ticket where he claims to have written down other evidence.
I think Brady should VOLUNTEER to pay for an extra ref for the rest of the games he plays to calibrate a gauge, measure and certify his footballs are 12.7 +/- 0.2 pounds, before during and after the game. That is ALL he ever wanted and that is ALL the league is owed.
