The marathon starts at 8:30am. According to the youtube video poster, it was recorded at 8:50am to 9:20am. I just downloaded the map and Granville at 49th and it is at the 4.25km mark (metric system up there). The first group was at 8:50am so if they started right at 8:30am (unlikely), they were running 7:30 pace or faster. There's uphill sections on the way there too.
This is not 4+ hour hobby joggers. There must have been runners before the guy started filming that were stopped too. Some of the first group the guy filmed looked pretty fit and fast too. You don't always start at goal pace, right, especially if the race starts uphill.
Horrible decision. Won't run it.
