As we get the 20,000s kicked off, I think it is important to further turn up the heat on Mike. We didn't get here without the passion of the running community to maintain the integrity of the sport.
I would like to see everyone in running to know of his name and have it be synonymous with cheating and for it to become a verb.
The more he can be made an example of, the less we will have other cheats.
I've written to a few of the timing companies like Gault and others asking them to name the timing mats Rossi mats to help ensure his name is remembered and invoked in the purpose of the mats - to deter cheating.
We might consider sharing how he has treated others in his profession and the national media attention he has received to his employer.
Perhaps a seminar on detecting race cheats at
It would also be great if there were some way to ban amateur runners from life for cheating offenses. Why should it only be relegated to the pros? Runners like Rossi should never be able to take a spot from any race where someone wants to train and race honestly in events that sell out like Chicago, CIM, Marine Corps, Bayshore, NYC and of course Boston.
I've thought about pitching this story to more national news media. Would be helpful to get exposure on national network shows and news. Leveraging the coverage so far as a proof point of interest might help get that done.
