I ran that marathon and my medal does not say relay.
I think the onus is on Lehigh to prove he didn't run in order to DQ him. It's their fault for not having mats. If they had mats and it didn't pick up splits then it's his responsibility to show he ran, by providing pictures or whatnot.
I just think it's a bad precedent to DQ because you don't show up in the pictures. I ran the NYC half and when I logged in the only picture is of me at the finish and I wore my bib clearly. If someone disputed my time then why is it my responsibility to comb through lost and found photos to prove I ran? I paid for the race, I shouldn't have to do that. Unless of course it doesn't show I crossed the mats, then I can see the onus being on the runner.
Now in the court of public opinion I do this it's Rossi who needs to show he actually ran. I just don't think Lehigh can DQ him.
I also disagree with Yasso saying it's a hard course to cheat. You don't get to the portion with the water until after the first exchange, around mile 6. Until then you run through a suburban area.
