After he stepped in it, he should have crawled into it.

Any normal human being who was called out for cheating and was NOT guilty would go out of their way to make sure they cleared their name.
Given a 3:11:45 marathoner would NOT have to struggle to run sub 20, say when and where you'll make your attempt and would have have someone well known get it on camera.
$10,000 and a false accusation, you bet I'd make sure it was legit as hell. It should be no more than a tempo run for such a runner, even one not at 100%.
Everything Mike does is not what a falsely accused person would do. But Mike knows best just google him.
I was thinking about this yesterday. I'm Mike's age and busted my ass to run a BQ 3:24:23 2 years ago. You can probably appreciate why this whole fiasco fascinates and annoys me. If someone accused me of cheating at that race (Mohawk Hudson Marathon, point to point race) I'd be pissed off. I wouldn't be trolling the people accusing me like it was some big goof. I'd roll out the proof in heart beat. I sure as hell wouldn't waste any time winning the $10k to run a time 15 minutes slower. I've got 4 other results where I've done that.
Now, if AFTER that, people still held onto the idea that I cheated, then maybe I'd laugh and point at them for a bit. From then on, I'd simply ignore them.
Mike's reaction screams guilty conscious. Following this thread every day like he clearly does is not the behavior of a normal innocent person. It's the behavior of someone keeping track of an investigation to see how close his pursuers are.
Hey Mike! You cheated at the Via Lehigh Valley Marathon and used that to fraudulently gain entry into the Boston Marathon. You lied to thousands of people during your self-promoting tour surrounding the absurd letter that you never actually sent. If you're innocent as you claim, then I have once again libeled you and potentially damaged your reputation, affecting your career as a shitty wedding DJ and substitute radio host. I look forward to hearing from your AOL attorney soon.
I do feel only a little bad for saying this: couldn't happen to a nicer guy.Seriously deserving of all the world hands back to him. No free ride and TANSTAAFL.

This is a win for Mike in his mind, to the non runners he can say he was on track and progressing with each race, hell even got down to a 20:25, I've got proof it's in the results, the next one would have seen a sub 20, but now the busted ankle, it won't happen by the end of 2015.
Perhaps the Brojo's should give out another challenge, give him till the end of February 2016 for a sub 20 on the track, with witnesses, no shenanigans, etc. Two weeks off with the ankle, nine/ten weeks training, a cinch for a 3:11 man.

So you must be a friend of his on Twitter. Ask him how he stepped in a hole on a course that travels through paved residential streets? Or did he do that cutting through somebody's backyard?
I'm myopic, is that his head or his foot?

I know someone who follows him, he is okay with women following him. If he unlocks his Twitter look at how many women he follows. Kinda bizzare for a married man.
That an posting those three drunk chicks singing a few weeks ago... Who does that?!?!

I am really surprised the Mikester/Cheater did not post a picture of his "third" place AG. Fvcking #loser

That's probably the REAL story of how he jacked his ankle
Unless it's just Photoshop, or he swiped it from some random person's Flickr or Instagram account ... Google "twisted ankle swelling" and you'll see a lot of pix that could just as easily be his

Sorry, bad editing. Mea culpa.

I can totally see him spraining an ankle trying to run a 5:00ish min pace with his form. He jumped in the course too late. If he sprained it before the start he should of DNS.
He stated on Twitter that he turned the ankle after the race. The ankle incident and the race are two separate personal failures for Mike Rossi.

Trollminator wrote:His(?) ankle looked slightly swollen in the picture, but certainly no sign of a stampede that would have caused his shoe to "fly out"... at this point can't put it past him that he might have taken a rock to it post-race to claim a valid excuse. I just love the tweet sequence.. "results coming soon".. followed by silence as he tried desperately to explain the massive fail.. then tweets that picture... then blocked! He runs a massive PB and says nothing about it.
Where have we seen before a massive PB and nothing tweeted about it? VIA Marathon. It's deja vu all over again!
I am sure he is talking about behind "locked" twitter account to the uniformed and KoolAid drinkers.
He also didn't mention anything about placing in his age group. That seems terribly out of character. Maybe he didn't want to attract attention from the guy who really did win that award.
