This is just speculation, but not completely unfounded. The accomplice's bride's last name is Chiasano. That name rung a bell for some reason, and then it hit me. I was a huge Howard Stern fan, and Howard had a producer at K-Rock that he used to belittle on the air because he would censors the show. His name was Tom Chiasano.
Tome Chiasano worked at WYSP in Philadelphia before he went K-Rock and he got his college degree at Temple. And is probably around the same age as mike. So it's possible Mike knows the bride's family through this guy. And when I saw the bride's wedding photos I have a clear photo of Tom Chiasano at her wedding. It's a very clear photo and it's 100% unmistakable that this bride is related to him in some way.
The question is does Mike know him, and/or the family? Considering they both went to Temple and both were trying to break into radio in Philly it seems plausible their paths may have crossed.
The bride is a physical therapist, and we all saw Mike nursing some wounds months before the ran Via. Perhaps he chose her as his therapist because he knew her relatives. I imagine during his sessions with her he was blabbing to her how he was going to run Boston. Her and her future husband are both runners and maybe she suggests that Mike have a trainer. So she hooks them up and Mike hires her fiancé' to train him for the Via Marathon. Then at some point Mike realizes he's not gonna be able to do it and convinces his "trainer" to become his mule.
Obviously this last part is completely speculation. But it's not implausible. And I wonder if Mike would have left some evidence of his training or office visits on his twitter feed if people hadn't started accusing him and forced him to shut it down and delete things. We'll never know.
But it's interesting to think about it. I used to read all kinds of true crime stories, and speculation is how murders get solved. The detectives come up with theories and then each one gets proved or disproved.
