All this because he sucks at basic math. If you know what time your race starts, what your finish time needs to be, and at which mile you're going to reenter the race, then you can back into the time of day you need to reenter the course to hit that target. One of 3 things or a combination of these happened that day:1) he relied on his gps watch and either paused it by accident or it reset, making him confused about the time2) he didn't really know at which mile he reentered the course3) he was worried someone would see him and decided to jump back in while the pack was still thinI'm guessing he drove to the course before the race to do some homework and thought he had it figured out. During the race he executed the first part well and got into his vehicle and drove to the reenter point. I think it then must have been a combination of 1) and 3) above that caused him to hop back in when he did. Since it's a small race there probably weren't many clocks and markers so he realized he screwed up the time when it was too late.

I don't think he can train is a$$ off and do better than 3:30 if that, the 5k time now seems just as far away. I think he knows now how stupid the 3:11 was and the only path to take is the one he is going down, completely transparent to us but not so to non-runners and DJ pals.
Would love to see Fox and Friends bring the Brojos on to discuss the challenge. Fair and balanced? What happened to that? Very disappointed in all news orgs who promoted the Madam Principal letter for not following up on the real story.
