They are the whole problem. Had they done their jobs competently we'd not be talking about the cheating punk much today.

Semi-related: I found this 15 year old article on Rosie Ruiz. It seems that after Boston, she embezzled $60k and got busted for dealing drugs. She got married and divorced, but kept her married name, as I'm sure she didn't like being known as "Rosie Ruiz." Apparently, she didn't mean to "win" Boston. She just wanted a fast time and accidentally wandered onto the course before the women's leaders.

Bart Yasso has presented himself as someone who cares about the sport. That is wrong.
Barb McKeever owns a race management company - and not a mom & pop type. She makes her living off this sort of thing.

Looks like our hero tweeted a shoutout to the OP who started this thread. Mike's as clever as he is fast. He picked the right brand of vodka, though. The makers have been accused of playing a little fast and loose with the truth, too.
I check in on the thread and find out I got a shoutout from the man himself? Truly, I am humbled.
By the way, if that's his bib number he tweeted, then he estimated his finish time at 3:40-3:45 (though that was months ago) and his starting position is in wave 2 of 4. Of course, he could always start further back to pace a slower friend.
See you in New York!

I won't be racing - but I'll be on the streets watching people. You know... there is a great chance at cheating once you hit Manhattan... right Rossi?
Just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.
on Monday it will be possible to download the tracking app for NYC. we will then know for sure if he is running it or not.
Well, you can already download the app, but the tracking is still showing last year for now.

that is why I said Monday :)
Let's have a photo contest of Mike's "running" skills. My guess is that he will look spent at mile 16 -- even if he is pacing a friend. He will be covered in sweat at the finish (4:11:45) despite running an hour slower.
I know the course is crowded, but I'll try to find him. (he does have a way of avoiding photographs).

Indeed, hero, clever, and fast. Not only did he qualify for Boston with a BQ-20 (!), he even finished that mary despite the hills and the 30 - 50 mph head wind!

Then why does Bart Yasso block people on Twitter who ask him about Mike Rossi? I think Bart said he doesn't care about Mike Rossi's 3:11 and thinks it's legit.
Disagree. He doesn't like confrontation or doing the right thing. That takes guts and integrity. The easy way or the highway. - Mike Rossi

Well, who wants to get annoyed by basement trolls all the time? Just have a look how often and rude I get insulted here just because I sometimes remind people that the committee found no evidence of any wrongdoing by Rossi.
Furthermore Yasso knows not thinks that the 3:11 is legit, because he has seen all the evidence - without bias - in contrast to the trolls and to both of you who seriously still don't believe it.
Does he know our sport? Anyone with a basic understanding of our sport and basic physiology knows there isn't a snowball chance in hell Rossi ran 3:11 that day....Of course that's just a repeat of what's been said over thousands of posts here, but I think Bart Yasso just doesn't want to get into it. He's got to get back to traveling to major marathon races and giving talks to the 3:30+ marathoners following his training programs.
I predict he'll be wearing the winter hat, winter gloves, and Boston jacket. That 4hr Boston time is the best he can do, but he's not in shape so he'll barely break 4:40. The part that should really irritate everyone is that he used that bogus BQ to get guaranteed entry to NY instead of raising money for a charity or doing the 9+1 like all the mortal hobby joggers.

Bart has never said nor implied that he thinks Rossi's time is legit. He has only said that he doesn't want his people wasting time on Rossi.
The LVM marathon's statement said "there is data from Rossi’s participation in other racing events indicating that Rossi’s time may not be accurate". They never said a word implying that there was any evidence whatsoever that his time was legit.

You said you barely know him, and that you only do an occasional long run in the same group with him, but still you think he's a "hero?" Does he know that you admire him from afar? Does he even know that you exist?
