What would be the motivation of Barb McKeever or Lisa Walkiewicz (and the rest of the Lehigh Valley Marathon race staff) NOT to disqualify Mike Rossi? Was there some kind of behind the scenes deal? Some kind of an incident for which Mike Rossi would have to keep his mouth shut about some secrets of the McKeever or Walkiewicz family and agreed to do so as long as they don't DQ him? Does Mike Rossi know someone on the race staff personally?

Are you that conspiracy dude that everybody is sick of?

The motivation is simple. No conspiracy needed.

Go the easiest route possible.

They care about stuff like:

-maximizing the $$ (more entry fees, donations, etc.. which helps their own bottom line; maximizing races "managed"; etc..)

-avoiding potential lawsuits ($$ out; hassle; etc.)

-minimizing the amount of time they spent on the Rossi situation (probably spent less than 10 man hours COMBINED on the matter; likely didn't even review the entire summary handed to them by SaraB)

-avoiding making waves

-looking good - hence the BS explanation of their "committee" and creating the impression that they were actually going to investigate, when clearly they didn't.; deletion of most of the critical comments on their Facebook page, rather than letting them stand, or heaven forbid addressing them.

They don't care so much about:

-The integrity of the sport, etc..; integrity of qualifying for Boston, etc... (see lack of action on Rossi, lack of ANY safeguards against cheating in their race, etc..)

They are merely an example of the way the running "events" have been moving in the last decade+. Less caring about racing, accurate courses, providing good value for reasonable cost, and focusing more on maximizing the bottom line via marketing (increased participation = increased revenue), jacking up the entry fees, using the Charity as a smokescreen for personal profit rather than the main beneficiary of race proceeds, etc.

I would like to "move on," but I'm still figuring out how to do the starting part of that process of moving on, then the ending of that process of moving on, while skipping everything in between.

I think it's time to hit the Via Marathon with a class action suit for not DQing this jerk. Think about it: if you're at a party and an acquaintance learns that you ran the Via marathon, are they more likely to be impressed or to laugh about the Mike Rossi scandal? I know what my reaction would be. Barb McKeever has diminished the honest efforts of those who ran the Via marathon by condoning cheaters. I think for damages the class of those harmed by McKeever's non-DQ could sue for a refund of entry fee at the least, then tack on training expenses, and some hourly measurement for the training time spent. Add on some punitive damages to ensure race directors get the point - this potential lawsuit is about integrity after all, not money.

So, do any lawyers out there with AOL email addresses, working from their basement, and renting office space with a few dozen other lawyers want to take this up? It might be the only way to change the outcome of this whole sordid story.

Ashley Madison called , she wants to know why all of you care so much about some guy allegedly not running an entire race , and posting nothing conclusive to prove your point and ignoring her when she has so much clear cut and conclusive evidence about husbands and wives definitely cheating . My opinions:

1.) Mike Rossi is a cheater and huge d-bag.

2.) Barb McKeever is a fvckin idiot.

3.) Lisa Walkiewicz is a fvckin idiot.

4.) Lehigh Valley Marathon is, in my opinion, run by fvkcin morons and jokers. Greedy jokers who have no place in our sport. It's pretty clear the emphasis of their race is on fat fvcks who car barely slog through a half in close to 2 hours.

5.) BAA should have stricter standards for a race (such as this sack of shit event) to be BQ eligible - besides that it just be a USATF-certified marathon distance, this would include a minimum number of timing mats at random locations throughout such course.

Sex is best when you start it and end it and skip everything in the middle anyway. If no one catches you skipping the middle part, you can say "I have been cleared of all charges of skipping the middle section of sex! Prove it! It didn't happen!"

Actually it is not far fetched idea and one I floated thousands of posts ago. The class could easily be established by those who ran the race in 2014. They all have a vested interest as their efforts we devalued by Mike Rossi cheating and the RD and Committee not fulfilling their responsibilities by DQing him or at least by be transparent in their decision, decision process, and providing more information, in particular, what evidence they have that he didn't cheat or that his time is accurate.

Some group or number of the runners of the 2014 Via Marathon need to band together and demand, en mass, answers and action.
