Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

I agree 100% with the above poster. Mike went an made a video called Boston Strong and posted it to CNN. He went and cut two baseball jerseys so that one side was Phillies and the other the Red Sox.

To make some kind of video claiming support for the Boston Marathon bombing victims and then CHEAT TO GET INTO THAT MARATHON is a total disgrace. Does he think he paid some kind of tribute to these people? It's sickening.

Then his Boston Video. Who would even watch that besides him and us, now that he is a total joke? Yelling into the camera, "Philly to Boston, baby!" with pride knowing he didn't deserve to be there.

Taking his family on vacation the very day his grandmother died? Is there anybody on this forum that wouldn't have just cancelled an stayed home with loved ones? In less he wasn't very close to her, in which case his point in the letter to the principal about overcoming death is moot.

I hope somebody in that school district is going to be paying extra special attention to the Rossi kids this year. My feeling is that they really need somebody from child services take a look at this household they are growing up in. Mike is clearly not a stable person and not fit to be a parent.

Your father dropped dead from one six years ago, and that event still affects you to this day.

Why wouldn't you make changes to your lifestyle to give you better odds of living longer (i.e., being in your son's life longer)?

I just find it incredibly stupid and selfish that a guy with your family history would do nothing in his power to lower the risk of having another heart attack.

On the ESPYS I was disappointed Kenny did not win the Arthur Ashe courage award. Go K Go. Don't listen to the haters. You are doing important work here that means more than you know.

Actually I have been making huge lifestyle changes since the beginning of the year and I'm down to 276. I eat much better and portion control is a big part of it. I hit the gym a few times a week, but for just mild cardio and weights for endurance. But I'm not up to running yet, like all the people on here so they don't want other about it. When I do get to a point where I need some running advice, or even try a marathon I'll come back and ask for advice and I'm sure the nice people on here will be wonderful and forthcoming.

In the meantime, we're here to get to the bottom of Mike Rossi's cheating. Maybe if you know him you could ask him why he can't see that there is NO light at the end of this tunnel. The running community knows he is a cheater and I doubt he'll ever run another race where somebody isn't looking to get in his grill and point it out to everyone around him.

Lance was an international star and he confessed. Mike is just a guy from Montgomery County and if he just confessed he could quietly slip back into obscurity.

Given everything I know about both Ken Stillman and Mike Rossi, if I were to get married and had to pick between hiring Ken and Mike, I would actually hire Ken 10 times out of 10.

Now in full disclosure, I would elope before having to hire either, but under the hypothetical scenario of "you must hire one or the other", it's Ken and it's a landslide. Hearing Mike's voice on the mic every 10 seconds would probably make me want to vomit.

HA ha ha. The DJ was at the wedding was John Marowski. He goes by John Lawrence on the East Coast website. He's the one who called Mike. It clearly scored him browny points with Rossi. Don't buy Mike's BS that the wait staff called him. Do you think a waitress cares if somebody is sleeping - vendor or guest?

What proof do I have except that he's a cheater. Has been caught redhanded cheating and won't own up to it. He harasses anybody who tries to speak out against him. He makes disgusting comments about people's children on an internet forums. He only seems to take them to Philly sports games (things HE wants to do), and we all know Philly sports fans can be nasty and drunk at times.

They would just tell me they can't do anything without real proof. But those of us who have been following the shenanigans of Mike Rossi knows that he does not provide a stable household to raise children.

The school district tried to do their job and informed the Rossi's of an attendance issue and they got body slammed in the press by Mike. They need to keep an eye out for falling grades, aggressive behavior, and possibly even bodily harm. I hope the teachers will take note of every bump or bruise they see on these kids. Because Mike is not right in the head.

I know Mike Rossi cheated, but, the only person he really harmed by his cheating is himself (and perhaps his family, but, that's his worry). He has cheated himself from ever being able to enjoy a sense of accomplishment for things he legitimately has accomplished. For example - his Philly marathon time at 8:24 pace was for him a PR, but, he can never celebrate it. Many people, including people who do marathons, will never achieve that time. But for him, he is forced to characterize his real marathon achievement, Philly, as a total disappointment, a terrible outing, and just an all out crap day. He was well over a minute a mile off 3:11 marathon pace, so, his 8:24 pace in comparison is just a terrible terrible effort. he can't take joy in that crap performance. And, so it goes with anything else he may ever do. His greatest accomplishment in life is based upon a pack of lies. So, if he ever achieves something else, he is cheated from being able to enjoy it because how can it possibly compare to Boston? The lie of Boston is the lie he has to live with. And, on top of it all, he will always be remembered for being a cheater. Truly something that he earned, it was not given.

Quick question: Can Rossi use his 2014 LVM time to get into the 2016 Boston Marathon? Any chance Boston would refuse to accept it if he tried?

Also, if he could use the time to get into 2016 then why didn't he do that when the grandmother died rather than taking a 5 day ego trip?

Another also, if someone dips 14 minutes under their BQ time on a hot day wouldn't they assume it was something they could easily do again? Obviously we all know that Rossi did not actually run 3:11 and probably did not want to risk cheating again but it's funny that he acted like he had to take the kids out of school for this "once in a lifetime opportunity".
