LoserMikeRossi is so much cooler than the Mike Rossi that cheated at the Lehigh Valley Marathon, by cutting the course, taking someone else's BQ spot, setting a bag example for his kids, because he was too much a quitter to do the work.
Paul McMullen, is that you?

Maybe if the RD realizes that protecting one obvious cheater is bad for business they will make a new decision regarding Mike Rossi.
There has been speculation that closer to the race some people will make donations directly to the charity, so it is not affected, but with a message that they have chosen not to run because of their poor decision.

I am not always positive about everything I see or read, but I am sure of two things right now:
1.) Barb McKeever is the race director. Lisa Walkiewicz is simply a spokesperson and is just doing what she is told.
2.) "not the brightest of the bunch" is the worst insult I have ever heard. If you are going to use a clever euphemism please look some up and use them according. I think you may have been trying to say that she is:
• not the brightest bulb in the pack.
• not the sharpest tool in the shed.
• not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Things of this nature are great and funny, but you have to get it right or you start sounding like Biff Tannen.
So why don't you make like a tree - and get out of here. ;-)
Then the RD made the right call. It's a win/win. The charity gets even more donations (from those running the race and from those protesting) and the race still sells out like it always does.

Why does it feel like someone who works with the marathon is tired of maintaining radio silence and is starting to use this forum to defend the decision, or suggest that the decision doesn't matter, or to suggest that participation will go up, or to suggest that this wasn't really the race director's call and so forth?
Yet nobody is using the marathon's Facebook page to defend the marathon with their real name tied to their point. A lot of us are willing to call him a cheater and to question the decision with our names tied to our posts. Why not defend the marathon on its page, without anonymity?
The people at the Lehigh Valley Marathon who decided not to DQ him are as pathetic as Rossi himself.
Yet you choose to remain anonymous here. How is the weather in Missouri today.

Or people could just say "F*** this charity. I'll give my money to another worthy cause that doesn't stand behind cheaters."
And it wasn't a sellout. In fact, full marathon registration was down 300 participants from the 2013 run.
First, you are confusing me with another poster who mentioned living in Missouri.
Second, and more importantly, I have posted enough times on their Facebook page and on other forums, flat out calling Mike Rossi a cheater, that if he wants to sue someone he can start with me. And most of the points I have made here I have made there as well. I am fully on the record.
Back to the question; why wouldn't the defenders of the marathon do so more publicly?
The suggestion that I am a hypocrite is very weak sauce.

What I find interesting is that the story about Rossi cheating, and the statement they made to the press is still at the top of their FB page. A true PR guru would have started posting all kinds of stupid stories to try and push this issue down the page in hopes of nobody noticing.
My guess is that the RD and PR person do not run the FB page, and it's maintained by real runners who are equally disgusted by the decision as the rest of us.
I thought the same thing, unless they think that anything they post will get nailed with responses about Mike Rossi. As it is they are containing it to one post (and some posts directly to their wall).
They did delete some posts today. I believe they deleted the posts that were cut and paste of the Lets Run story which was stolen via hacking. So I don't blame them if they deleted those.
I do hope they understand (and I sent them a note about this) that even if this quiets down it is going to flare back up as the race approaches and their page is getting even more visits.
Perhaps it's because it's not worth worrying about. Most people are smart enough to sniff out a few overzealous cyber bullies trying (but failing) to push their agenda. Maybe leaving it at the top of their page is their way of saying "we see what you posted and we still don't care".

Overzealous internet bullies? Let's not forget how Mr. Rossi's existence became know. It was Mr. Rossi who bullied for no other reason than to feed and placate his own ego by first posting a standard, cover the school district's ass form letter that he received from an elementary school principal. The principal was only following standard school district policy. He posted and reposted that letter. He then wrote a sarcastic and self serving letter which he addressed the principal in it by saying "Dear Madam Principal". He posted that letter everywhere too. He did not take the issue up with proper people in the school district and in fact, never sent the letter to anyone in the school district. He CHOOSE to cyber bully an elementary school principal and school district because they choose to follow their procedures. They did not single him out or treat him any different than any other resident in the township. However, he did the complete opposite.
So please, I know it may be hard for to comprehend and to accept the facts, but your dear Mr. Rossi brought this on himself by cyber bullying and then even lying about it in spite of what his facebook, twitter, company's website and tv and radio interviews said.

Bully
- use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants
Example
- using the national media to humiliate a school principle into bending a rule, rather than handling the situation privately
You have plastered your opinion all over FaceBook, yet you are afraid to post your name here. Why? Are you afraid of the constant ridicule you will suffer?
