How many weddings do you think you need to DJ to be able to afford to sue everyone on the internet?
Are there any mathematicians here (I know there are like 100 lawyers)? Or do we need to hack into the Whopper at NORAD to figure that one out?
(bonus - name that 80s movie - clue, not Animal House)
Just to clarify, I'm certain you're not suggesting that posters on LetsRun.com suggested hacking into a computer at the DOD...? I'm going with "no", you didn't suggest that.
Mike Rossi: you're welcome. I just saved you a couple hundred bucks in Attorney's fees to have him write a strongly worded letter.
And I'll admit - I feel conflicted about it.
Breaking News:
Mike Rossi to sign book deal and will explain his side of things:
MIKE ROSSI - since you obviously read this board given that you called your attorney yesterday regarding an innocuous quote from the movie Animal House, I want to take the opportunity to call your bluff and see how truthful you are. You mentioned several times, captured here -
, that you are willing to share your MRI to prove that you are in fact injured. An individual's words are only as good as their action to back up those words. So, I am respectively requesting that you please provide a copy of your MRI and technician's or Dr. Richard Goldberg's report with the diagnosis.
If you choose not to fulfill your prior offer, I think that will not only speak volumes, but also confirm many of the allegations about your character.
Whether or not that was Abington Runner, it's completely accurate. LRC - you should apologize to and bring back Abington Runner. He did nothing wrong and has always been a logical and respectful contributor in this forum. Everyone knows he was joking and it was an excellent joke at that.
It's not just the MRI, he owes
1) gps data
2) an explanation of how he ran 3:11 on 15mpw
3) an explanation of how he avoided any camera shots over the whole course despite being a media who**
4) an explanation of his demeanor when crossing the finish line in 3:11
5) an explanation as to why he didn't brag about the 3:11 race of his life like every single one of his other races and training runs
When we have these I'm sure a lot of the speculation will die down. If he thinks we're going to take the RD decision to mean he actually didn't cheat he's really not familiar with LRC... He wanted to be a celebrity, well now he is. Mike, are you really prepared to check this thread and try to counter punch everyday for the rest of your life? Think about the kids man... Or do it for the Eagles!

D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: [whispering] Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... [thinks hard] the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! [runs out, alone; then returns] What the f-ck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ars from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these b-stards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: Let's do it.
Bluto: LET'S DO IT!!

Judging from the videos I have seen online it would take Mike thousands of weddings. The company he works for doesn't seem to work in any of the nicer reception halls in the Philadelphia area. It looks like they work mostly fire halls and country clubs. He's probably only getting paid $500 per night, so do the math and figure it out.
I don't disagree. However, the point is he Offered to provide the MRI. If he can't even fulfill and follow through on what he said HE is willing to share, then that is something he cannot defend. Look at the link. He offered to provide the MRI. While he should provide answers to the questions you asked, he did not offer to provide that information.
I am trying to prove that he doesn't even live up to his own words and promises!!!
His FB page now has the pic of his "Ever A Cheater and Supreme DoucheNozzler" medal hanger.
He is a bad man. A very, very bad man.

That's exactly the point. There are a lot of issues that he can claim "there is no proof" (no course photos, amazing time given limited training). These are things that the LVM RD would normally use to DQ the guy (if she had any guts).
But when he promises something, he is caught in his own lie. And the RD should DQ the guy (if she had any guts and understood how she is impacting the future of the race).
If Mike doesn't come clean, what happens? Does the issue die because the general public isn't educated enough about marathon racing to understand equivalent performances?
Remember when Kip Litton was allowed to race Boston in 2011 because of a qualifying time in North Carolina? The BAA contacted this race and didn't DQ Litton because the RD at the North Carolina qualifying race said the result still stood
So that's the way the BAA handles this - they contact the qualifying race used and even if it's a dinky little marathon in the middle of nowhere with no measures in place to prevent or deter cheating, it's allowed to be used as a Boston qualifier (provided the RD there is willing to be another drunken idiot and vouch for the participant). BAA also allows courses with huge net downhills to be used, unlike the courses allowed for Olympic Trials Qualifiers which have a limit as to how much the course may drop to be a legit OT qualifying course.
It would be Great to see races put in more controls, but the fact of the matter is that the Boston Marathon is mostly a hobbyjogger's Olympics and so no one is willing to step up their game and put some basic nationwide measures in place to preserve the integrity of the sport.
Having measures in place for BQ though would be a ton of work and would be analogous to having an NBA referee come to certify a pickup basketball game in your driveway with your son - it's just not something that will happen, so we rely on the runners honor code.
I took a look at Mr. Rossi's Facebook page. He updated the photo yesterday of him with a Boston medal on along with some other shit tin (might be the Lehigh medal).
Someone should take a look into his cover photo and the races he has medals for on there. Some of the results for the races for those medals may not be on athlinks so it could provide some more evidence to the guy's capabilities
It would be kinda weird if the BAA didn't allow marathons with net downhill profiles to be used as qualifiers.

Could you perhaps upload it on e.g. Imgur?
I would love to read his blog where he describes how he is working his ass off 15 MPW.
Here is the most damning evidence he wrote in May, 2014 in my opinion:
"After a few weeks recovering from the marathon, I started back on a new
plan that consisted of running and strength training, specifically to build up
the strength in my thighs, quads and glutes.
I incorporated squats, leg presses and a lot of stretching, and started
doing these after EVERY run.
The result? A complete recovery and ZERO IT Band pain. And I have
increased my mileage significantly, running 2 half marathons, a 10 miler
and a 5 miler all since March 30.
I know a lot of runners dread weight training, but let me tell you it has
been a godsend for me. I make sure to do these exercises AFTER my
runs and the results have been remarkable. My speed has increased
tremendously. I PR'd by 6 minutes in both the half marathon and the
Broad Street Run (10 miler), and just last weekend won my age group in
a 5 miler.
It shows that both his 1:40 half and the Broad Street 10 mile race in 1:14 results were indeed PRs and honest race efforts. Anyone who tries to refute this or talk around it is full of shit. Now explain me how someone from these times turns into a 3:11 marathoner in 4 months? They don't!
I promise you, there are not hundreds much less thousands on this earth that care about Mike Rossi and the VIA marathon.
Would you feel a sense of accomplishment if his kids were getting made fun of at school? Would you be happy if Mike lost all his jobs and was unable to support his family? Over the last several days your fight has been reduced to "We're doing it for the principal". Like you think a respected educator would want you ding dongs in her corner.
Some of you guys using your real name and happily give out your FB page are real pieces of work. You realize YOU ARE MIKE ROSSI minus cheating at a race (and I wouldn't put that past you). A couple of you would have happily thrown that principal under the bus just like Mike did...it's in your DNA. Your friends think you're a dork how you're carrying on. I don't care if you're a DJ or an engineer or the greatest family man in the world. You're the type of cretin that cheats on his wife and then gets upset that she smiles at a man who held the door for her....YOU GUYS ARE A JOKES.
How and why this thread is even up escapes me. This is an all time low for the BroJos (and that's saying something).
Compelling stuff Greg, thanks,It's hard to read past the first couple of lines in his blog without throwing up a little though, be warned.
I watched the whole video and there seems no way anyone could have gotten by the photographer without getting their picture taken.
As someone who has been running marathons a long time it saddens me people like mike rossi would resort to cheating just to get a BQ.
Great points. You missed the part where the school principal was harassed
