Hey Fence troll. A local friend of mine and running partner has posted his opinion on here a few times , Never attacked Rosie's family or kids and never concealed his identity. This is the first I posted but I have been following from the beginning. How is this for integrity? Over the past couple weeks Mr Ruiz has liked pictures of my friends 9 year old daughter on Facebook on several occasions. My friend , in good taste , hasn't spoken about it at all. I on the other hand think that Rosie is way out of bounds and seriously pegs the creepy meter!
Is he friends with Mike Rossi? Does MR only "like" the photos he posts of his 9 year old daughter or does he "like" other photos as well?
They certainly aren't friends and all I know is that two pictures of my friends daughter from a cpl years ago show up on my timeline last week because Rosie liked them. Over the line. Period.

I don't even use Facebook and I think your attitude is outrageous. In what way is "liking" someone's pictures creepy? Perhaps you are just doing a piss poor job of explaining the situation, but I don't think any of this is Over the line. And certainly not Period. You need to get out more.
OMG someone (who also has young daughters) liked a picture of my daughter that I posted on my stupid social media account...must be a child molester!
Rojo, I think you need more than an editor. I think you need an expert statistician, like the ones that testify as experts at trial, to analyze the number frequency, and location of the photos; and then render an opinion on the probability that MR ran the entire LV marathon. This could give your article some real teeth and allow it to be quoted by others.
The question was about integrity. Rosie has shown all along he has none. This is just another example.
This thread is very long. From the little I've read, the signal/noise ratio is pretty low. But who knows, maybe I just didn't look at the right pages.
Does anyone know if there's a credible, understandable and accessible summary of what exactly people looked at, and what they found?
Check the posts from Doubler from around page 181 or read his blog http://marathoncheat.blogspot.com/2015/05/mike-rossi-viral-letter-writing-dad-and.html
Mike appears in NO photos on course. Only the finish line (and a selfie at the start). He is the ONLY runner not to appear in any photos on course. There are sections on the course that have photos every few seconds for the entire time that he could have passed by, but he's nowhere to be seen.
Mike's previous results show no indication of being able to put up his posted time.
Despite numerous posts in social media in the past on his races, training runs, etc..he was silent after he qualified for Boston and set a PR by an impossible amount.
He stated he trained his butt off - 1000 miles over 18 months. About 15 miles a week. Nowhere near the miles you would expect.

If you see something wrong with that you have major issues. You need to seek counseling. Rossi has bothered me from step one, but you have just crossed the line from nuisance to public danger. Get help before you hurt someone.

Hal Higdon seems pretty credible.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. From my quick scan, those look like just what I was hoping for. Now if I can just carve out some time to look at them more carefully.
In the meantime, if anyone knows of other good things to read, please post them up!
PS The blog iiagdtr links to cites "statistical analysis" by GregTR from earlier in the thread. I found GregTR's orginal post. Unfortunately, he just presents his results without explaining how he got them. I was especially interested in his "marathon equivalence." Maybe he's just doing something that every marathoner gets, but I'm not seeing it. If someone can look at his results and explain them, that'd be great.
GregTR's results:

GregTR's explanation:
I have excluded the Via Marathon (red) and his bottom 3 races in terms of performance then looked at the averages of his races and their marathon equivalences. His average estimated marathon effort would be a 3:38:29 with a standard deviation of 7:47. What it means that running almost 27 minutes faster than the average performance is statistically inprobable. This includes his performances before and after the Via Marathon at any and all distances. For someone to go from and average 62.3% age graded performance to 70.2% overnight on a hot marathon day is nothing short of a miracle.

Paula Radcliffe says hello and yes, it's perfectly natural.
If only you all weren't haters and tin foil hat wearers, this sport would get somewhere, lke FIFA.
I did cheat
What are you going to do? Beat yourself up about it forever? That's not how everyone heals from it.
I'm sleepy now.
Smooches
Well it really is the end of May now. Last business day of the month. What are the odds that there will be an announcement of some sort in the next few hours?
I'm wondering if a good strategy wouldn't be to go to the online articles that report he may have cheated and post a comment "What is going on with this? What was the resolution?" Maybe if the press does a little inquiry for follow-up...?

That's pretty creepy indeed.
Liking old pictures of a 9 year old because her father was critical of him... Definitely a sociopath.
