I’m skeptical about the hoped for DQ simply because Via staff asked usatf to do an investigation. Contrast that with what they do at Vermont city: Joe (d2xccoach) sees an obvious cheat, and removes him from the results. No punt to usatf, no delay. Usatf will likely do nothing about the request. They have a national championship meet and tons of other stuff to worry about, and won’t want to deal with a slow runner who won no money and took no PEDs. Via race leadership need to step up and make the right decision, and the fact that they punted on it hints that they don’t want to do it. They don’t need advice on what to do with a cheater. It’s their race – they should take ownership of it.If you want to get Mike DQed, Via needs to feel pressure to take decisive action against him. Perhaps the threat losing their status as a Boston qualifier would help. If I were the BAA, I wouldn’t let a race that turns a blind eye to cheating be a qualifier.

Pressure should be put on BAA to tighten up their standards for BQ races - ...... If BAA threatens to pull the LVM qualifier status for next year, that might put some heat on the RD.
