Cause look, let's say you were for some reason accused of cheating a race you legit had run. The first thing you'd do was explain what happened, why it might look like something was off. Or, scramble to get your backup- the splits you're worried you deleted, the friend you ran with that day. The LAST thing you'd do is sit around and fake-post random "yes I DO have a girlfriend in Canada, you guys!" type crap.
Picture the principal that Rossi threw under the bus to kick all this off. I wonder how long she'd let her schoolkids twist in the wind when they're locking themselves into total obvious fibs.
