That's Shimizu, with 2m to Viola, 2m to Efraimson, then 10 or 15 meters to the pack

Really impressed with the running out of Alexa so far. Looks pretty strong, we'll see how well she can close this final K.
12:29 at 4k for Shimizu, 13:06 with 2 laps to go. Viola a good 15m back, Efraimson well back and getting passed by Reilly into 3rd

I may have spoken too soon... Alexa being caught by the pack. With 600 to go.
500 to go, Reilly moving up hard, catching Viola, but still 20m to catch Shimizu, 14:23 for the leader, 4-5 second gap. Reilly pushing, she's gonna try to catch her!
Efraimson faded well back. Still Shimizu, 1500 at 200 to go, Reilly making contact with 120m to go
And Shimizu tries to respond, but Reilly pushes down the stretch. 64 last 400 or so. 15:34. Shimizu, Viola, Lystad 1542, Goodman, Mergaert, Montoya, Wright, Koizumi 15:46, Grabill, Traynor, Behm, Fraser.
So Efraimson lost like 20 spots in the last 800. She needs to learn to pace herself better.
That was Reilly winning Section 2 of the women's 5k over Shimizu, 1534.
Men's 5k Section 2 on the line.

Nick is running the 1500 at USAs this year. He also got beat by grant fisher by 2 seconds.
I'll believe that when I see it. He said that last year and didn't run.
He'll have any easier time making the qualifier for the 800m.
Thx Nootral. Great play by play for us non flotrackers. Even on the internet, on a messageboard, you are better than Carol Lewis. I hear she asked coach Amy Deem about the race this morning and she said...
Another huge field. Men's 5k Section 2. 64 for the rabbit out front. First three have a little 3m gap on the pack, not sure if there are 3 rabbits or what. Ok, the gap is closed.
209 at 800m. Believe it's Cory Leslie pacing. Now strung out single file.
Really calm single file, probably due to the 1330 pace. Leslie takes em through in 420. Looks like Lex Williams in second
5:27 at 2000, so 13:37 pace. Leslie still pacing with a long line behind him.
Think it's McGorty of Stanford in 3rd, Presson up there. Pace has slowed just slightly. 6:01 at 7 laps to go
Leslie, Williams, Hillenbrand, McGorty. Leslie the rabbit. McGorty slowing slightly and some more guys moving to go around him and stick with the front group.
13:40 pace at 3k. Not much changing behind Leslie.
Still Cory Leslie, Lex Williams, Matt Hillenbrand, Andrew Springer, Sean McGorty. Coming through 3200 in 845. A bit of bunching back in the pack.
Leslie still hanging on as the leader the whole way through, even with a bit of a gap going to Lex Williams. Hillenbrand going by Williams who looks a bit gassed. Leslie stepping off with 3.5 laps remaining.
