Beards are ironic (well, not anymore), but those that have them like to think they're being ironic because, "hey, I'm a rebel who's going against what society deems is acceptable from a appearance standpoint but, look at me, I have a very successful job as marketing manager and I wear a stylish suit (because that's what marketing managers do) but it's ironic cause I have this blue-collar beard thing going on in a white-collar industry that I've become so successful at. See how I'm soooo cool."
yeah that's pretty much it. They love combining fashion items from separate eras, demographics, etc. , and then call it "ironic" when they put it together.
- ultra slim fit suit
- suspenders
- colorful socks shown off by your kinda too short pants
- 1920's-50's style hair, like a clean cut fade slicked back on top.
- mountain man beard
- tattoos
- plastic sunglasses
and im with you OP, something about it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I just feel they are trying too hard i dunno.
