People have way too much free time on their hands. Humanity was meant to struggle for survive. Now that our needs are met, we are doing stupid things like that.
Maybe global warming won't be so bad. It will put us out of existential pain.

Why is that worse than running 2:18 in split shorts?
Typo. I think you meant 2:29.

Better item mentioned in the story:
"...Iain Church who broke the record for the fastest marathon in a bomb disposal suit with 6:28:06."
Shades of the great Gary Fanelli. Those were the days.

I'm guessing if you're having enough of a hissyfit over this that you needed to take time out of your day to type up why, it's you who's feeling the "existential" pain here.
Are you sure they didn't mean to say, 'Only person to run a marathon in a bomb disposal suit'?

why would Superman run a marathon when he could just fly? Same with leaping tall buildings in a single bound. Flying trumps everything.

The bigger typo is that the guy was clearly dressed as Spider-Man, not Superman.
As long as he wasn't a try hard wannabe POS like me up there annoying the elites and LRMB posters, who cares.

How many hours a week do you spend running? Working on a new PR?
How's that Internet? Pretty cool, right?
Food in the fridge?
Roof over your head?
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Clothes in the closet?
So much for struggling...
Can anyone pinpoint when exactly England went from some of the most dignified people on the planet to people who largely have no dignity? Self-deprecating humor is one thing, but many times when I see a younger Brit it's like they're a clown on a Japanese game show.
2:29 ... in the struggle survival he'd eat most people's lunch. Weird, like the bomb disposal guy, but also a solid effort.

You've been watching too many period dramas about the 1%.

Haha, you've gotta love the LRMB, some idiot posts about a moron doing stupid things then puts up a heading about 2:28 and superman and provides a link that clearly states 2:29:57 and Spiderman. Classic.
The guy is actually a Kiwi and he ran 2.17 7 days before at Manchester which adds some real balls to the accomplishment.
Yeah Paul runs for a team called Run Fast here in the UK who are an athlete management company and bring across Kenyans to compete and train in the UK. He has been targeting Manchester as his A race this spring as as the previous poster said ran 2:17 there to take the win. Having also got a place in London and knowing that he was only going to have a weeks recovery he decided to have a bit of fun and try and break the Guinness world record for the fastest marathon dressed as a super hero. To run sub 2:30 just a week after a 2:17 is pretty impressive especially in fancy dress and he was just having a bit of fun so I think it's a bit harsh to call him a moron. He is a top bloke and a very good runner and it's nice to see him embracing the fun side of the London marathon. Good effort.
