Meb...what a guy...amazing. Congratulated the lady...fantastic moment for her.
She was shocked to see it was Meb who grabbed her hand. Her wide smile was a priceless moment.

Quick reminder, Bill Rodgers may have been third today.
Let me check. Nope, it was some Kenyan.
Great interview!
Everyone get all that?

And 2nd in Dubai in January.
Well folks, great to be a part of this discussion. Have a great day all!
Fernando Cabada coming in strong... looks like he'll finish just ahead Shalane's time from last year. Really should be proud.
I was just saying that to a co-worker--that woman will never forget being there with Meb. Meb is the epitome of class and sportsmanship.

After hearing this for so many years, this joke is somehow still funny.
2/10
Other top Americans:
11th: Teg - 2:13:53
12th: Jeff Eggleston - 2:14:17
14th: Nick Arciniaga - 2:18:02
16th - Sage Canaday - 2:19:12
This was the first time that Linden has ever beaten Flanagan. She was 0-11 before today (unless I missed somthing).

That gesture of Meb's, grabbing Dionne's hand and raising it. She'll never forget that.. The guy really has a sense of the moment.
Isn't that a DQ?
Excuses. Maybe he should be smarter and race courses that have more consistent weather....Look at the results quick and see the name Malcolm Richards. He ran 2:15 last year and a 63:20 half this year. He's got a full-time job and has the OT qualifier... nobody knows about him. There are several other Americans like him who don't get so over-hyped like sage canaday does. Sage isn't even the best ultra runner in the US. He is milking the system like Ryan Hall and not showing any actual success. Tell me these things are not true and I'll drop my argument.

I do. Impressive turn around from his race in LA last month.
Bummer he isn't going to get the OT standard. He definitely could have done it in LA if it wasn't so hot, and then he got less than optimal conditions here. He's projected to finish at 2:18:50 based on his 40K split.
Great coverage! I loved it!!
Thank you Letsrun.
I like how the Boston F'ing Marathon can get to the award ceremony faster than my local 5K.
Teg can't be disappointed -- he's squarely in the mix for the third spot in Rio.

Almost spoke too soon. He just barely beat her.

5th American women (or 6th depending how you count Nemec) was Lauren Philbrook from Hopkinton HS and Williams College.

I believe this is correct, even when you factor in college. (Not sure if they raced in HS.)
