Annie LeBlanc does it again - Takes down Moser in 800 after beating Cain in 1500!! #Beast

maybe NOP is in some massive training block or Moser and MC were told to do a particular race plan that didn't work against leblanc.

Cain and Moser were there to 'prove fitness' in advance of the World Relay meet.

Not sure what exactly they proved.

She ran 2:04.47 all the way back in 2010 (so faster than what she ran today). She has unfortunately not improved much (at all??) since entering Oregon. Hopefully, she will break through this year...

Why does this have to be the end of Cain/Moser? These were slow, sit and kick races. Leblanc probably just has better top speed than Cain and Moser. Great job to her. It's not the end or beginning of anyone. Cain and Moser are not sprinters.

Is this a joke? Cain ran footlocker in highschool. She is also the 2-mile record holder. She ran a sub 16 5k last year or the year before, didn't she? She only competes in the 800, 1500, and 3000.

The argument about one athlete being a better sprinter than the other is pointless.

Total lack of understanding how an 800m race works.

Sprinters get out hard and try and burn the kick out of distance based athletes.

In a slow race, strength based 800 runners have the advantage cause it's about who can kick when you're already lactic.

Duane Solomon speed based, Nick symmonds strength based. Think about how they race.

Finally someone who gets it. I'm so sick and tired of people on here not understanding this basic physiological concept.

What I don't get is how this misconception has spread in the english-speaking track clique, to the point where it's now the dominant interpretation of the word. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen this misuse in any other endurance sport.

That's right, Annie MF LeBlanc took down Cain by throwing down

Annie L. ran 2.03 before getting to Oregon - so she hasn't improved yet. But good to see that she is consistent and beating some good people now as I was beginning to wonder if Oregon was a mistake for her.

Given that a younger like Gabbie Stafford is running faster (4.11) while staying in Canada, I certainly hope this is a better journey for A.L. from now on.

Amen. The Worlds Strongest Man is not a skinny distance runner.

Moser is on the downside of her career and she is not an 800m runner. No surprise she lost. Cain is the next best thing since slight bread according to this message board, and is a spring chicken who got beat at one of her stronger distances. That is why her loss is cause for concern.

By the way, Ajee Wilson is better than all of these people and proved it again this weekend running fast all by herself in NJ. No love for her on these boards for some reason.
