Wrong. Let's do a little math shall we?
Let's say if you run without walk breaks, you can run 6:00 per mile, and if you run with a walk break you can do 5:30 per mile. Now, let's say those walk breaks are taken once every two miles, and you walk for a tenth of a mile each time (if you need more of a break then you just suck). Assume when you walk, you walk at 3mph, which is a brisk walk, not a stroll.
Every 2 miles will take you 12 minutes by running all the way through. Every 2 miles with running 5:30 per mile pace + walking the next tenth of a mile will take you 13:00. For running alone, your marathon will take you 2:37:12. If by running/walking, you cover every 2.1 miles in 13:00, you would complete 26.2 miles in 2:42:11. That's 4:59 SLOWER by taking walking breaks.
Be smart, train hard so you can run the whole distance, and you'll finish faster. Galloway is crap, and math proves it.
