Bellerin is not the fastest soccer player in the world. Not before, not now...
There were a couple of 10.2 soccer players some years ago.

White guys aren't known to be fast. It wouldn't be shocking to him or the general public if he got beat by a black sprinter.
Dude, Kilty is whiter than Galen Rupp

But he's not French.
Um, ever heard of Billy Hamilton?
Since Billy never ran track, a couple years ago in Dayton we wanted to see how fast he was. We took him to a football field and had him run the 100 yds. We wouldn't know where to start or finish on the track for 100 meters so we just did it on the field. Since it was grass, Billy could run in his bare feet. We took two watches and one guy had him at 8.32 and I had him at 8.34.
Just the other day we had him race Chapman's fast ball. He got a running start from second base and Aroldis threw the ball as soon as Billy got to him. The ball just barely beat him to the plate. The gun had Chapman's fastball at 104 and Billy at 92.
Billy's a hard worker too usually taking extra BP after the games. When he leaves and hits the light switch, he's already in his car driving home by the time the lights go out.

Yes, but Lemaitre is really small for a sprinter. That's why it'd be great. He's a small, white guy.
By small I mean not muscular
Real football players run under 4.4 all the time and some 4.3 at the combine every year. So anyone who thinks 4.42 is fast is laughable. It's just not. Guys that are 6'5 and 240 pounds can run 4.42.

Does that include their gun reaction time?

What's laughable is that anyone with an IQ in double figures actually believes those combine numbers.
In his 9.58, Usain Bolt split 4.64 for 40m using automatic timing, and he was ahead of every other sprinter at 20m. And claiming 4.42 for 40 METERS is an even bigger lie than claiming 40 yards (another 0.3 sec longer).
What really happens in the NFL Combine is they do not use FAT timing. They let the player start on his own, and they time from first movement, and that makes the numbers 0.6 sec faster than it really is.
Every year a whole bunch of college football players come out for indoor track, and since track coaches want to encourage this, USTFCCCA maintains an football player indoor performance list, which puts the lie to the whole thing. This year the fastest football time for 60m was 6.60. John Teeters ran 6.52. 6.60 wouldn't even get you into USATF finals, let alone beat Bolt.

NFL players run 40 yards, not 40 metres. 40m is an extra 3.74453193 yards. That's a lot when you're taking about hundredths of a second.

Great Britain's world and European indoor 60m champion Richard Kilty is willing to BET £30,000 he would beat Arsenal pair Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott in a sprint race.
"Media CLAIMING Hector Bellerin can run 4.42 seconds over 40m. Absolutely no way. Are these journalists complete morons!," says Kilty.
"I will put £30,000 on the line to race Hector Bellerin & Theo Walcott any sprint distance, any time, any place, anywhere.
"The race will be over very quick. So if they put their money down I will gladly show everyone they cannot sprint as fast as the media CLAIM."
BBC should pay for the match-up!
