No serious runner is going to get the Apple watch, with it lacking independent GPS. Garmin Vivoactive and the Timex One GPS are where it's at.

Casio is a brand, and a damn good one. Reliable, affordable, Japanese, quality. You probably drive around in a crappy unreliable over priced volkswagen or chevy. I wore this casio watch on my wedding day & I'll wear it for years to come, because it's comfortable, good looking, & it freakin works.
I hope you die alone . . . screaming.
I'm Margaret Greay.
OMG , you made it out of the basement. Wear your $19.99 special Oakley's you bought online to protect your eyes which clearly have an issue as the China production Casio does not tell time any more let alone have a timing function!
Remember to renew your bus pass and keep your 3 speed bike tires inflated if you make it out again.
Die alone screaming , nah , how about a hooker on each side and probably moaning vs screaming if you know what I mean!
Another aggressive advertisement trying to make us spend money on something that we absolutely don't need.
Apple consumes the planet's resources, selling us tons of stuff we don't need, for nothing more than corporate profit.
No apple watch for me. The less gadgets the better would be sound policy for runners.
Leave it to good ol' Apple to practice market skimming to milk the fanboys for easy money. The watch is lame af and has an abysmal battery life of less than 5 hours. How useful is a watch when it could only tell you what time it is for a whopping 5 hours before it needs to be charged? There is no need for this product, and it will surely be a flop.

Just got back form my Apple Watch appointment. My observation:
- build quality is outstanding. It doesn't feel like something that is mass produced in China (Foxconn) but rather like it was handcrafted in Switzerland. Amazing.
- don't get fooled by how cheap the basic band is. This is not your grandmas plastic. It is a high performance fluoroelastomer band. Probably the most comfortable band I've ever felt on my wrist.
- other than the fluoroelastomer, I like the classic leather band.
- The customizable watch faces are beautiful (besides the Mickey Mouse watch face which is hideous in my opinion), especially like the standard and the astronomy ones.
- Stainless steel looked amazing but I was really surprised by how great the (standard) aluminum looks....
Overall, great product. Ordered one.
...so it looks good?
Thanks for the update, kid.
.... are soon parted.

I've got a $20 watch that has chrono. If Apple had a watch like that I'd get it.
But seriously. White people.
Yeah, cuz only white people buy overpriced items to make a statement …like Air Jordans and the like.
OMG the Apple sheep are going crazy.
Are you already lining up in front of the 5th Ave store to be the first one to get one?
Only to find out that the CrApple Watch is dead after 18 hours?
Also, lol at "high performance fluoroelastomer". It's a cheap plastic band. Cost Apple $1 to produce they sell it to you for $50.
Sheeple will really buy anything as long as it's from CrApple.
Also, does this thing even have a GPS? Lol, no? This thing is useless for runners.

I'm not the one paying up to $17,000 for a watch that you have to charge every day, & is an extension of the notifications that you already get on your iPhone in your pocket.
If the iPhone is so good, then why do you need another product to assist it?
Listing the "up to" price is probably the least accurate way to categorize a price - especially when the top price is ~50x greater than the minimum price.
Also, since when is any gadget a "need"? When did this become a barometer for a gadget? People have had iPhones for several years without an Apple Watch, clearly it's not necessary to use the device.
$17,000 for an iWatch that can do less than my Moto360.
Typical iSheep, I am sure they will sell a lot of these.
At least the Moto360 has a round watchface and actually looks like a watch.
me
No, for one simple reason. It can't beat my Garmin Forerunner 405 for running specific features. At least not yet anyways. It doesn't even have a GPS, I would have to carry an iPhone with me, and I don't even on an iPhone!
To be honest the Microsoft Band looks like a more promising replacement for my Garmin. It has better health sensors, and looks to offer more functionality than just looking nice.
I'll stick with Garmin until V2, V3, or V4 of one of these devices!
save a bunch of money and get the brentwood apple wall watch for less than 17 bucks

I requested one for Mother's Day, so we will see...
I bought the basic one (sports) only, because of the lack of GPS. After it synchronized my stride to the iPhones GPS, it should be good enough to track my runs within the ballpark of +-2% distance. That's good enough for me.
I plan on keeping it for a couple of years and then upgrading to a higher end (Stainless Steel) model down the road when GPS is included.
Sorry I had Tim delay the launch so Me, Myself and I could get ours first...

Has it changed your lives?
This should do most of everything you want then:
https://store.google.com/product/sony_smartwatch_3It has gps and everything.
my cheap casio for $19 says 1:35 p.m. and hence is still accurate to less than a minute after owning it for almost two years. I do not need to synch it with an expensive phone. With the use of several buttons I can time any of my workouts. The stopwatch turns back to zero every hour that it is running. Still not a problem. I know when I've been running for over two hours versus 1-2 or 0-1. It does not record any split times, so my memory is better than before, since I have to remember my splits. I don't care about the style. I can measure the distances I run very accurately on a map or online or with mile markers. What exactly have I lost from not having a watch costing hundreds or thousands of dollars?
