Apple Watch more than anything else in their line up is a typical "gift", so September/October would make perfect sense.

Um, no.....IPad will not move to an 18 month cycle. It'll stay in the Christmas cycle. It's also not stagnating at all. That's a poor misconception of how this kind of thing works. iPads have a longer upgrade cycle compared to the iPhone. You'll see a decrease with an ever increasing installed base before you start seeing it increase again. Also they intentionally delayed the IPad pro until the fall to help give 15-16 a boost over the daunting numbers that 14-15 is putting up on the strength of the iphone. IPad will be making a full scale assault.
Also as more and more iPhone users get used to the ease of the finger print sensor it'll be extra motivation to upgrade to iPad air2 or whatever comes out in the fall and more and more online apps will take advantage of it making it a greater incentive to upgrade.
