Well I recall a year later in 1984 in Los Angeles vividly....there was the Olympics and lots of European girls going to the beach. As a teenager at the time....it was glorious moment in my life at the time to see topless girls at the beach.

VHS tapes used to have crazy prices on them at the rental place if you wanted to buy them... like $99.

Back to running, hometown hero Brian Diemer won the NCAA 3000 Steeplechase.

The TAC outdoor championships were in Indy. We had over 1 inch of rain in a torrential downpour during the 10,000. Virgin proved to be the best 'swimmer' of the bunch. But it was Mark Nenow later that summer that was the top American in 7th place at the first World Championships. I think he ran 28:11 (and was within 2 or 3 seconds of winner Cova) after running 27:50's in the heats 2 days earlier to qualify for the final.

When I was 9 years old in 1984, the olderkids at school used to put a matt down on the pavement of the school yard and they would play there ghetto blaster with the D size batteries.. They would play axel F. Some of these guys could really break dance.. In 1985 everyone at school would be wearing a Michael jackson jacket red and black.. And have the glittery Jackson glove... I also watched the space shuttle on TV crash inflight... And watched haleys comet while shovellin snow in my back yard in day light thats how bright it was..I think it was in 1986? I

graduated from HS in Pendleton, Indiana in 1983

I was in high school playing softball and tennis. Listening to the best 80s songs...:)
