Im a canadian running in the NAIA in south Carolina. Which means at Nationals I run against UBC. UBC is a GREAT team a GREAT coach. excellent distance program. Got t watch Luc Bruchet and Maria Bernard run last year at nationals. and Got to Race against Justin Kent (steeple champion). Their 4x8 teams would very strong. Both their Mens and Womens teams would be decent D1 Squads. and strong D2 squads. if you want to stay in Canada AND be able to gain a scohlarship while racing good schools with a good team and a good coach theyd be a good choice.
You might do well to inquire on the discussion forum at trackie.ca
Some of the coaches post on there.

The coach from Queen's posts all the time on Trackie - the most knowledgeable coach in the country. Great academic school (the best Ontario school and likely better than some Ivy League schools) and the distance program will be the best in the country in a couple of years, especially now that Guelph will be on the downfall after that OUAA 3000m.
Canadian runner here hoping to help, but I will second posting on Trackie.ca for more insight.
Well, Queen's is an okay school (if you leave out the fact that they had a faculty member promoting the case for not vaccinating your children for some odd reason, lol), but the coach is an eccentric who would likely stalk your internet usage to make sure you are following his every command (speaking from experience). He lurks the internet to throw his 2 cents about everything, which only solidified my belief that he spent no time whatsoever actually being a coach outside of yelling at us at practice. He has an unnatural hate on for pretty much everyone but him, and will quickly try to drag you into running politics, which no student really cares to get into.
UBC seems like the right choice for middle distance, as they have a solid program built up many years there. Guelph is your obvious choice for long distance and development, as they have a solid coach and no shortage of studs. Plus, they have a great club with athletes beyond the University days to push you along, and are generally considered the running capital of Canada.
There are many other good choices and I advise you to look at a good academic/athletic combo that fits your needs. Again, posting on Trackie is a great start
Can't go wrong with U of T. yes ... trackie web site for good info.

Whats up MilkBag?
The thing to know about Canadian universities is that for the most part, they are roughly equal in terms of academic quality, given that they are generally speaking, all publicly funded.
Schools like UBC, UofT, McGill, Queen's etc have tend to be viewed as more prestigious because of their large research endowment/tradition, and are generally harder to get into than some of the smaller, comprehensive schools. Undergraduate eduction quality is fairly comparable however - anyone telling you otherwise is probably getting paid or has been brainwashed by elitist faculty/alumni (looking at you Queen's). That being said, some schools are more renowned in particular areas, eg. Waterloo is known for math/engineering, Western for commerce/business etc.
Athletically, Windsor, University of Victoria, Toronto, UBC seem a good bet if you're a middle-distance type. If long distance is more your thing, Guelph, Queen's or Laval (French-language university in Quebec) are good. Trinity Western, which is one of Canada's few major private/religious schools is also good if you're into that (big price tag on tuition compared to other Canadian schools however).
There are also a few niche schools that aren't necessarily big in the results that have good coaching, and generally develop those that they get very well.
UBC didn't have a track when I went there 2006-2010

Didn't Ben Johnson train with Coach Francis at York? It's the "Harvard" of the Arctic, eh?

They happen to be currently looking for a head coach:

It was great, only the rain sucked.
This is terrible you NAIA homo. Why don't seem to know anything about track. Everyone knows that the only university worth going to is Brandon U. If you don't know that you're dumber then you think. Sounds like you should eat a sandwich instead of stalking people at NAIA nationals. Whatever that is.

You probably should have left it with "Great academic school (the best Ontario school". QU is a very good school and exceptional by Canadian standards, but, "likely better than some Ivy League schools" is an incorrect statement by all acceptable measures. Ivy League schools are private and it is very difficult to compare a public state sponsored school.
I agree with sauce guzzler Brandon U is where its at. On, you sound like one of those Wusses who starts every race in last. Maybe if you spent less time in your moms basement on lets run and more time doing your bio homework and studying you could have gotten into a real school like Brandon.
