Does this mean the end to his senior season?
Does this mean the end to his senior season?
dont worry. if there is one thing Coach Kennedy knows, its pool workouts! Soratos will come out of that pool in just as good as shape as he ever was.
He needs to make sure he recovers and stays injury free so he can go pro with Brooks or NB. He should talk to German F who was the last Central Valley to run 3:55 or faster.
That is crazy to put a stress fracture in a cast or a boot.
Following Fernandez's example of getting injured. Nike will love this.

Yeah just talk to German and do THE EXACT OPPOSITE of whatever he did.
Nooooo, 2nd all the GF references. Heal slow, heal right.
Just because someone is wearing a boot, doesn't mean they have a stress fracture.
You're right. It's either a stress fracture or a broken foot.
The aura of invincibility has ended.
It's an aircast. I'm betting that it's a stress reaction and the boot is precautionary. It's early in the season and no reason not to rest him for a little while they make sure everything is ok.
Clearly he wouldn't be instagraming about it if "everything was okay"
I wish he didn't get hurt, seems to be in good spirits tho
He ran 3 or 4 different events at his indoor conference meet, with additional qualifying heats on top of that. Add in the hard training on his school's indoor track and it's not totally surprising that he ended up in a boot.

It depends on where the stress fracture is. Old skool PT: lots of tape and aspirin. Alternating ice and warm water. Although RICE has been dismissed as not as effective as going straight to warm treatments the icing does help with the pain. Will Soratos be able to salvage his season? The odds are against it but it can be done.
From my training logs 1977.
March 23 10 miles easy on grass *** STRESS FRACTURE 4th metatarsal.
May 27 3000m steeplechase 8:48:6
June 9 National AAU prelims 8:35.0
June 11 National AAU finals 8:22.5 AR
sorry to hear this. he burst on the scene this year and it is nice to see all the support from his fellow collegians. he has a great future in the mile.
Cristian does not have a stress fracture!
Stress fractures should be easy to heal, but not with RICE or heat.
MICE is much better, ice, movement, compression, elevation. I use icewater at the first sign of any injury, and the healing process is fast. An example was 3 fractured metatarsals, soaked in ice water, and back to running in 6 weeks.
Heat brings blood to the surface, stimulates the nerves, delays healing and increases pain.
Takes destroying your body to try and beat Ches... He's the new Rupp.
Rupp loses to McDougal, a year later McDougal is never competitive again. Solinsky takes him down in the 10k in 2010... Tears his hammy and is done for life.
It's a curse.

Christian ran a total of 5 races over 2 days @ Big Sky Indoors = 2 X 1 mile; 2 X half mile; 1 X quarter mile.
Ches is a LOT better than Rupp.
