Contradictory.
The vast majority of running dogs display docile body language. Even the ones that are hostile are far more likely to stop and bark and harass you than try to bite.
Dogs are quite predictably harmless. If they weren't, there wouldn't be so many living among people. When you hear news of dog attacks, it's news because it's the exception that proves the rule. An unleashed dog running around isn't cause for alarm.
even if a dog is "harmless," it's still not fun to have one barking and growling at you. people need to keep their dogs on leashes. it would be the same as if some guy came up to you while you were running and started verbally harassing you for no reason. that's how i feel when an unleashed dog starts barking at me, and it pisses me off.
keep your dogs on leashes, people. just because it's nice around you doesn't mean it's the same way to strangers.
and i am in no way supporting the runner in this story. it was a small dog. he shouldn't have kicked it so hard.
