This is not a criticism of Hall. But it is a criticism of the low standards fans sometimes seem to apply to PROFESSIONAL athletes. It would take an amateur, stealing Google time at lunch, how many minutes to learn the current conventional wisdom on eating/drinking during a marathon? One could certainly reasonably assume that a PROFESSIONAL runner would a) learn what they should probably do, b) practice it, and c) execute it in the race. I can have some sympathy for not getting the last part totally correct due to various factors, but not much else. Again, folks, they get paid to do this.
Reminds me of the lack of criticism of, say, a football player who misses parts of the 3rd or 4th quarters because they got dehydrated. If you're getting a full ride or million dollar contracts, you should be responsible enough to note the color of your urine and/or the fact that you haven't peed in hours.
