did you see the message scroll across the ktla screen from Kyle wishing Eric cartman his best?
Ward closed extremely well. Doesn't look like he just ran a marathon at all.
2:12:51 for Jared Ward! His first national title!
That's a great effort considering the conditions.
Can he find his way onto the Olympic team in LA 11 months from now?
Blake into 3rd....
2:12:56 officially for Ward. He closed very well over the final miles -- 15:28 from 35k to 40k.
Blake Russel closing on 2nd.

They\'re obviously to moderating the chatter very much. I think a \"go Rojo. You can break 4:00!!! Love Wejo\" would slip through.
Jodie Robertson had to have cheated to catch the leaders. Every solit was slower than the leaders by 50 sec and she was all of a suddenly with them. She also doesn't have a start of 5k split.
Sage finished : Finish 2:20:01.60 2:20:01.95 5:20/miOh dear. Better luck next time, Sage. We love you.

same pace. Good controlled running. Estimated finish is 2:19:23 though. Will he be able to pull off 1:30 minutes in the end?

OK whoever is coaching Ward, American marathoners need to go listen to that guy.

Ed Eyestone, BYU, is Ward's coach.

Nice run by Blake Russell. 2:34:56 on paper isn't an impressive time, but given how slowly the race went out, it's not very relevant what her time was. This is her first US Marathon title.

Coaching a marathon is just way different than coaching track distances. Not even the same ballgame. Canova is really the only coach I can think of who has had success in coaching both track runners and marathoners. Maybe Steve's system just works best for 800-5k.

I read in an article she's been doing 100-115 mpw for LA which is a lot more than she's used to. Has anyone heard of what type of workouts she's been doing?
I watched the race on USATFtv. Just wanted to note how GREAT the coverage was. No smarmy interviews with bank presidents, no lame remarks from people along the course, no repeated weather reports (like Chicago), no interviews with hobby runners who are running because their parakeet has cancer.
Thank you!!! That was actually how a marathon should be covered - although they weren't that great giving splits. The commentators were pretty well informed. I almost trashed my computer when I was watching the Chicago marathon.
