Yuki Kawauchi. He races constantly so he is easy and entertaining to keep track of. And the time he shaved his head after he felt he disappointed his fans was just some noble badass sh1t!
And Adam Gemili. Watch his WC semi final, where he first dipped sub 20. The interview he gives about how tack and field is still fun and noble and good (despite all the recent scandal regarding Thaon Gay a) was one of my favorite Track moments
I respect the guy who has put up with the most shit! Galen Rupp
And JennyB. Never thought she would recovery after her XC break down.
Billy, because he let his feet do the talking.
Frank, because he still burns about Montreal.
Pre, because he defined Oregonian.
Joan, because she made the break.
Another vote for Meb.

Max King. Was working a full time job at a pharmaceutical company and still made USATF national teams.
In the same line of reasoning, Daniel Lincoln when he set the US steeple record while a third year medical student (long, hard hours).
Lastly, Chris Solinsky. Seems like a stand up guy, no arrogance, down to earth, not atypical of midwesterners in general.
+1 for Dan Lincoln
Surprised nobody has said Derrick yet. Smart, humble, down to earth, not cocky or arrogant or anything. Outstanding runner in high school, college, and professionally.
+1 for Derrick, that's a good call.
Also a big fan of Ben True being self coached and not getting caught up in all the pro runner monkey business.
Lastly Nick Willis gets it done and is extremely humble.
Definitely Derrick. He has a degree he can do something with after running, he's got most people beat on that alone.

How has no one said Matt Elliot...

Matt Elliott is a great example. Such a humble, down to earth guy that has put in the work while also giving back to society working full-time as a school teacher (yes, I know he's on a leave of absence this year though). While the man hasn't mad a huge impact yet, he came up from the underground and made a statement in true underdog fashion at USA's. And, he just seems like a really nice dude. How could you not like him?
Kipsang, Kimetto, Rudisha, Bekele, Kiprop
A lot of good names dropped in this thread. I agree with most of them.
My top choice, Adam Goucher. Total bad ass, a ton of heart.
Easily Brian Sell above anyone. Stand up guy and someone who understood the power of hard work. He's the guy I've used many times to get out the door and get at it.
Second is Adam Goucher. Tough as nails, never gives up, and a true competitor to the core.
Nick Willis all the way. Hes just chillin in Ann Arbor with his wife and kid. continues to perform great year in and year out. Soft spoken nice dude!
Kim Conley. Never quits. Always gracious.
