chris was just pacing. goal was to get a few guys around 8:20 but we're in a heavy training block so we just didn't have it at the last k. mark my words-- chris is ready to goo. (and so is wm distance)
Considering the seriousness of Solinsky's hamstring injury, like him or not, it would be great if he were ready to go -- committing to the difficult process of coming back after serious injury is worthy of respect. It would be easy just to give up. On the other hand, like him or not, I do not want to know if Solinsky is ready to goo. But that's just me -- others here might be interested.
Solinsky is a beast. Bottom line. Can't wait til he races at NYC
I'd like to see him go 1:o3 at NyC. That would be an accomplishment and a sign he is heading the right direction

i actually like solinsky. i like rupp as well. this was more of a final smug stamp on all the non related comparisons of folk who like solinsky and hate rupp based solely on their physical appearance. in the end yes they both had their moments, but the man who is the best runner is rupp. always was and always will be.
Hard to believe any of you who pretend to be runners or running fans can make fun of Solinsky who was world class at every level of running. High School, then college, then Pro.

There were times in my life where I would have given everything I had for marks like that. You guys should be ashamed to speak like that about him. He is one of those who did it right over the last 15 years.
How did this thread get. "Hot right now" with only two bumps all evening? Lol@ LRC forum's algorithms

He never had a bad race and won every race that has ever mattered.
So either he has won Worlds/Olympics or they don't matter?

Worlds/Olympics? Yawn. He has won bigger races than those. He should be receiving a life long pension from Nike. After all he isn't a little darky. Little darky's are not worthy of sponsorship. Only white runners are.

Solinsky won the 3,000 by 4 seconds in 8:21 at Virginia Tech today. If anyone was there, it'd be interesting to know how he looked. Results below:
1 Chris Solinsky Unattached 8:21.64
but.... DID HE LOOKED RELAXED?
Solinsky looks like an NFL free safety and was the first non-African to break 27. He's running sub-2:05 in the next two years.

I am a little confused. It says he ran unattached? Does this mean Nike dropped him? Is he no longer with the Schumacher group? Serious question, sorry if I am way behind the times.
What do we know about his current training? Who coaches him?

Is that the general concensus? 1:03 is success at this time? I guess I'd agree though anything sub 5 pace (65:30) and finishing healthy would be a win I think. Stay healthy, build confidence and be ready for a marathon and 2016.
Remember it's not a fast course and can be windy as hell.

The man does 6:00 pace for his 20 miler and recently ran 5:45 pace for a whole marathon in practice.
Looking at the results from Colonial Relays last night (and they weren't at Stanford either), I'm still wondering exactly where the W&M distance team is ready to go to?

Weak.
Did Solinsky DNS or DNF at NYC?
