Let's say she is doped and Jenny Simpson is clean. Do you think a doped Jenny Simpson could run a faster pace for 5K than her pace for her 2 mile AR? I am not sure how much of advantage the drugs give, but I would be surprised if it was that much.

Smiley happy Ethiopians don't dope, not ever, and it doesn't even work.
We all used to say that about Kenyans but all that smiling and happiness was just a ruse. So let down about that one.

Not everybody was fooled
Some of us knew what was going on the whole time with the east Africans
If they're getting busted for epo now
What do you think was going on when the was no test for epo?

You do realise I was being facetious don't you?
I've been calling out the East Africans on here for years, probably many years before you even knew this site existed.

I hate to say it, but I think Dibaba's dirty.
To me, it's often easy to tell who is dirty. Regina Jacobs was so obvious for example.
But it dumbfounds me to see a post like this with Genzebe. Do I know she's clean? No i don't. But what about her makes you think she's dirty. The fact that she runs fast as hell? SO what. She's only the second fastest person in her family.
Sports Gene. Go by yourself a copy.
It's like the Payton and Eli Manning or Venus and Serena Williams.
In my mind, you either believe both Dibabas were dirty or clean.
What is surprising to people? That her indoor times are faster than her outdoor times? To me, that would mean she is clean. The hallmark of being dirty is stupendous performance after stupendous performance. You can recover better, get away with way more in workouts so you hardly ever overtrain.
Dibaba has been injured off her game a lot.

If she goes sub 14, I'm getting naked. Voluntarily, with exuberance. In celebration of the human body, vitality, fertility, happiness.
Can you film it? I'll feature it as the Video of the Week. I'll even pay you if you are female as i'm sure the hard up males on here that won't pay $10 to go a track meet will pay to see a nude, female track fan.

Anyone remember that year when I think T Dibaba but maybe it was Defar ran like 14:30s in like 90+ heat in New York. The weather was awful
Temperature is not always ideal indoors though. They can't refrigerate an entire stadium. I don't think the Armory even has any air conditioning.
If i was in charge of the armory, i'm sure i could get the temperature right. Air conditioning isn't the issue. Open the window.

Just arrived home after a great night at the Globe. It was great to witness Genzebes world record, and I can say for certain that she wouldn't have run that last kilometer in 2:47 without the great support from the crowd. A couple of thousands standing and screaming for the last laps, it was truly fantastic. I think this is why indoor distance running is fast in Stockholm and the reason why Defar, Gebresselasie, Dibaba etc come to break records here, because of the crowd.
How big was the crowd?

Hahaha. Yes. I will agree with you, the Dibabba sisters are just like the Williams sisters.

Okay. Once she sets a few WRs in a row, then we can talk about drugs. Oh wait.
Good genes don't preclude an athlete from doping. Try to tell me that any athlete who has tested positive wasn't also naturally gifted.
Second. Yes. Her performance level is an indicator. When athletes start to match the times set before ABP controls (or for that matter, the epo test) I am skeptical. Science of Sport has a great chart showing the drop in performances at both of those intervals. It shows that with more controls, athletes dope less. So when we start to go back to those performances, it is a red flag. Thats not even acknowledging new drugs AICAR and gw1519.
11 years ago, KB set the indoor 5k record. That was the height of CERA, and before even rumors of the BP. If an athlete matched that, what would you think?
Also, her coach has bad associations. Mahkloufi is in his stable. But I don't weigh that heavily. JA is coaching across continents. It is not realistic to oversee doping. But will he raise an eyebrow when one if his athletes makes dramatic improvements?
Finally, we are not in a post-doping world. I had an in depth conversation with Canova and a few others last fall about the culture of doping. I was called a hater, right until Jeptoo got busted, Russia got reamed, and Kenya got clobbered. Right now, we have Kim Collins setting PRs at 39. Herzog finally getting banned after being caught so many times. Lagat and his master WR campaign.
My default is skepticism. The culture hasn't changed, and those athletes on the top are on the top of a doped culture. It is a disservice to the sport to blindly accept what is presented; thats how we got into this mess in the first place.

Queen of the Boards. Amazing. Note that Geb's indoor PB for 1500m and 2000m is faster than his outdoor (which makes sense, but still...).
9,186 was the official attendance figure. Not bad for a Thursday.
Why is it that whenever she runs these indoor records she isn't tired after? She looks like she could again? What a slap in the face, EPopian.
If taking drugs can improve my running form, where can I sign up?
I agree, she has phenomenal form. Easy on the eyes to boot.

Ok, let me preface by saying you are a lot smarter and more experienced in the doping world than me, but isn't this point a tiny invalid in the sense that her WRs last year were so close they could easily be explained by phenomenal fitness at a given time? Again, I don't know how the scenario works, but that could also be incriminating assuming Baby D was riding some kind of high at just the right time for those races? Does doping work that way?
My biggest question (and I honestly have no idea, sorry) is how do athletes get away doping? Is it a matter of using less illegal matter at certain times or masking the drugs with something legal?
And FWIW, it is sad that this conversation became another LRC doping witch hunt, but we on this thread sound like atheists arguing against the devout. No one is going to win...

No, I think the Globe takes around 8-9000, but it was maybe 65-70% full. So maybe 6000 people.

The official number was 9186 spectators. Most spectators ever has been 16592.
http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globenhttp://www.xlgalan.com/With respect, the 16,000 capacity includes temporary seating on the playing surface. Fixed seating is 13,000 plus change. Typically sold out for ice hockey internationals or equestrian events. Great indoor facilty in a good central location just minutes from the subway.

Ok, then it was even more than I thought. Anyway, the last laps were just massive to experience. I just hope she's clean. But that is probably a hopeless thing to write in this forum...
