Portland-based mid-distance runner Mary Cain has withdrawn from Sainsbury's Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, England for health reasons, her agent said Tuesday.
Oh sh$$$t she's done!!!
It's over!!M WTF is going on?
Cain and Farah leave Salazar!!!
Negs: Rupp out. Cain out. Mo off on his own. Levins with a stinker after a brilliant double. Puskedra off the grid. Ritz back to Michigan. Erdmann disappeared.
Pos: centro destroying anything in his path. Rowbury the female version of centro at current. Hasay with an impressive resurgence (training adaptation). Mosier with some super solid runs. Osako with a pair of spectacular outings.
Maybe the NOP is human?
A cold will affect anyone, but we have not seen a lot of positive results from Cain for a long time. It is pretty hard to ruin a talent like that, but it seems to me from the outside like she lost motivation within a year of turning pro. Without full buy-in, there's no chance.
I know this has been said a TRILLION times already on here, but Mary is 18. She is 18. She is adapting to a training life that extends beyond riding so much natural talent. Even if her training was more than 10% responsible for her past results (which I would blindly argue against with anyone), she is settled into a different world and different life. I know we here on this boards that know everything about everything will say she has been a Pro for a year and has had ample time to adapt, but she is 18. She is developing in every aspect of her life, not just training and racing. It seems silly and prophetic to assume this situation is the end of her, or anything more than bad timing for sickness mixed with Mary's continued development.
That being said, there is work to do.
From Millrose, Rowbury is NOT a female Centro. That lipstick still has me creeped out, Centro could've pulled it off. And their finishes were drastically different.
Rowbury is a 1500/5k runner
Centro is a 1500/800 runner
Rowbury is dominating her competition this indoor season
Centro is as well
Not the same runners but there are similarities
Congrats to both of them

Centro is not an 800/1500 guy. He is a 1500/5000 guy.

Centro is also a boy and Rowbury is a girl did you know that?
Well, if you look at the IAAF all time lists, Centro's personal best mark at 800 has a superior rank to his personal best mark at 5k.
Rowbury, on the other hand, has a superior all time ranking at 5k vs her 800m all time ranking
Centro has been racing "under distance" this indoor season leading up to Millrose.
Rowbury has focused on the mile
Both Centro and Rowbury have incredible range from 800 - 5k. So that is a similarity that they share as well.
And yes, Centro is a boy and Rowbury is a girl. Sorry I neglected to point out that difference for the pea brains reading this thread.
Is there any semblance of truth to this? Just curious on how NOP started being associated with dope?

Not sure Centro would look all that good in the lipstick, man. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree..

Because Alberto Salazars former runner Mary Slaney was caught cheating. The intense amount of secrecy surrounding their operations does not help either. I'm not saying they dope but that is probably where this association stems from.
Wasn't Brown or someone or another actually Slaney's coach during the time in question? I'm not sure. Nevertheless, imagine if every NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB or MLS coach who maybe coached one player that was dirty 20 years ago was held to the same standard. Keep imagining that every player that subsequently played for that coach was considered 100% guilty by association. That would be totally absurd...

The slicked down hair was too much, and made the lipstick stand out.
Who cares. She couldn't even win NCAA's indoor right now. She has no business running in England.
