That was cool. A lot of fun.
AWESOME.
Lopez looked a little lost there.
I knew Lopez was strong for a distance guy, but I was surprised it was THAT close.
Eaton didn't want to lose his sprinter/deca cred.
cool video. thanks for sharing it.

Define strong. How much can he lift?

I just meant that he looks like he has larger muscles than other elite distance runners.

This just in... Eaton out for season with torn biceps tendon....
Lomong should move up (sideways?) to multis after this.
Lomong does a lot of heavy lifting that even middle distance would not dare try. I remember once in 2004/2005, he walked into a gym where I was working out at Norfolk State and started lifting. I looked at the weight "discs" on his machine and I could not believe he could lift that. It was the type only body builders could be seen struggling to lift. At the time Lomong ran 14'24" indoor 5K but could run low 46" for a quarter mile. Soon after he transferred to Northern Arizona, he ran the 800m in 1'45! It is therefore not a shock if the guy could do very well in multi event.

Low body fat % pretty much is the definition of ripped.

Your story lost credibility when you said there was a type of weight that only bodybuilders could be seen struggling to lift.
The thing is body builders train with medium high reps for hypertrophy. Someone training for lb per lb strength and endurance like Lomong might be able to do some bodybuilder workouts.
Eaton won but, for how long and thin Lomongs arm is that was more impressive. I'd bet on LL in a fight lol.

No kidding, arm wrestling is one of the easiest ways to screw up your arm pretty bad. Surprised he would do something like that...for a distance runner it doesn't matter so much, but for someone who has to throw and pole vault???

I see what you're saying, and I thought about that before posting. But in my opinion, you have to be toned AND have some muscle before I call you "ripped."

Yeah. Fair enough.

What?? I would not bet on Lomong in a fight.
5'11 152 against 6'1 185.
Ashton's a bigger guy,no chance Lomong wins in a fight.
As awesome as Lomong is, he would have no chance.

Why do you think Lomong would have no chance?
Eaton has 2" & 33 pounds on LL.
You don't believe it would be a close fight?
I've seen guys in bar fights that weighed under 160 pounds destroy guys over 200 pounds. Size isn't that important. I knew a few big guys who feared the speed of small wiry guys. (not saying Eaton isn't fast...he obviously is)
I knew some really good athletes in high school that were terrible street fighters. I went to a school where there were a few fights a week. Even the girls would fight. The difference.... it looked like the girls were actually trying to hurt each other.
Guys would throw a few punches, then someone would break it up. No one wanted to step into a cat fight.
