There is no announcement that he could make that would qualify as big.
Unless he pulled an Oscar P and murdered someone. But that would prove that it was pre-meditated, so I doubt that he'll announce that :)
He and fellow Brooks teammate Katie Mackey are joining the Amazing Race. They are going to crush the Beer Mile task.
NO ONE CARES ABOUT NICK SYMMONDS BUT NICK SYMMONDS.
This guy tries so hard to stay relevant off the track because he's done on the track.
No way I'm going to watch if he is going on DWTS (can't stand that show). The Bachelor, I would certainly tune in (I tend to get interested in a season of this every few years, but am by no means a religious viewer).
Announcing his public execution taxi cab drivers in favor of more eco friendly Uber ride service. Nick's hypocrisy knows no boundaries.

It certainly seems like you care about Nick Symmonds.
50% it's reality show related
I will bet it, like usual, it is nothing.
I have no issue with athletes trying to promote themselves in various ways off the track. That being said, I was glad when Solomon organized a 4x800m that stole Nick's candy.

He has previously said he was trying to get on the Bachelor...so maybe that's it?

no he doesn't. He's an arrogant, cocky S.O.B. He's so full of himself he makes himself and the whole sport look bad. I wish this piece of garbage would just go away.
Only insecure betas are bothered by Symmonds, a true alpha male who is successful, quietly confident yet humble and gracious to his competitors win or lose. (Watch any Symmonds post-race interview, ever.)
He is probably THE best-known male track runner (non-sprints) in the US, and yes I do include in that Galen Rupp, who has the remarkable quality of being totally uninteresting to the public in spite of an Olympic medal.
Carry the sport? We'll see. For now, Symmonds is one of the only active pros who can carry a conversation.
...As a contestant vying for the affection of the actual Bachelor

Now that he has conquered the 3k, he will move up to the 5k.
He tweeted he had a big announcement to make tomorrow at 3pm Pacific.
Ninja Warrior. That's actually a pretty cool announcement for once
American Ninja Warrior asked HIM to be on the show??? He should have a couple qualifying runs to make it through, before we even start hyping him at final in Vegas where finalists try and conquere Mt Midoriyama. (For those who have never watched, the average Joe, must compete in the 1st round at the city tryouts. The top qualifiers then move on at that same city tryout to face a longer more difficult set of obstacles. If I'm not mistaken, in the second round, only the top 15 athletes who make it the farthest and fastest from each city move on from that city/regional tryouts to Vegas). Since the show saught Nick out, he might go directly to Vegas and win the whole damn thing.
When are Worlds? The ANW finals in Vegas are June 24 and 25. The show wanted Nick? I've not seen the show hyping his appearance, then again they are only filming and this won't air for a couple more months.
They could do a special taking athletes from different disciplines and trying them on the course. Like a top swimmer, mid distance runner, climber, cyclist, footballer, etc.
OK, between the gum thing, signing with Brooks, his 3k debacle, the beer mile, and now this Ninja crap Symmonds has officially entered into the same realm of washed up, twilight-years runners as Goucher and Fleshman for me.
