My name is Marc Roig and I am new in this forum. I was one of the two pacemakers that Florence had during the Barcelona Half Marathon (and I was also her pacemaker last year when she did 65'12").
Let me solve some of the questions you have about the race. The circuit is very flat and fast. The turn of 180º after the 15k is not a problem for keeping the pace because it's on a huge avenue with a pathway in the middle, so the curve takes more than 20 metres to turn those 180º.
About pacing her, yes there were some male pacemakers. I was one of them and I did until the 12k at the proposed pace. The other runner, Ezequiel Kipchirchir, stopped at the 14k because of some pain on the feet. Then she run alone, but always with an Andorran runner (Marcos Sanza) something like 50m ahead. Actually, on the last km, she managed to close progresively the gap and that's why at the video you see her arriving with him but both sprinting for they own goals.
