Waiting on splits, but the DMR is looking hot for NCAA's!
Posted them on Valentine live thread..
2:52.x
47.x
1:49.x
3:37.x
Possibly Solis for Slade, not sure yet
3:57.x obviously, sorry about that
Solo. Legit. Nova killn it
They are a second off the NCAA indoor record. Wow
Solis 1:49.x on 800 today, as printed in results
Unofficial splits: Jordy Williamsz 2:52.3, Donald Urschel 47.84, Dusty Solis 1:49.4, Rob Denault 3:57.8 -- official time of 9:27.04!
It's quite possible that they can ran a few seconds faster if they play with the lineup.
Obviously "they can run," not "they can ran."
switch Solis and Williamsz and add Muhammad

Why switch solis and williamsz? 2:52 is a fast 1200 and I trust Williamsz to have a strong leadoff leg more than Solis. I dont know if Solis has the strength to hold on for a 2:52. Also I dont think that Williamsz can run faster than 1:48
It really takes chutzpah to put Urkel in there on the 4. No joke, though, that is a surprising DMR for Villanova. Nice work.
Didn't Solis run 2:51 last year?
Williamsz, will need to and will anchor for sure. There is no way they would not have him run the 1600, he has much bigger upside than Denault, who is really running well, but Jordy has always been faster and by a bit and I know Williamsz can run faster than 1:48, why you might say? Because he has only run twice and is running as fast as last year prior to him splitting 1:46, 1:47 and running 1:46.77 scratch last year.
He is just better than a year ago, in Cross, everything. I think he could run 7:50's for 3K this weekend as well.
Williamsz is shiftier and just outright faster. maybe as much as 3 full seconds or more at 1600 than anyone else, even Denault .
That's not insulting, it just is. Williamsz was 5th last year at NCAA 1500 and two or three graduated.
Solis has run 1:49 early this season, when he capped out at that last year and 4:01.8 when he ran 4:04 last year and later, he alos ran 2:51 in DMR last chance, So I am pretty sure they will go:
Solis to Muhammad if healthy,to Slade, to Williamsz, and hopefully for Nova fans a bit of daylight on Cheserek, like a real bit. I think Jordy can out bang the other anchors.
Denault has already most likely Q'ed for the mile and most likely will run that.
If Williamsz Qs at 3K, he might run that double, I highly doubt they would go Mile/DMR , Q round to DMR to mile final. just too much hard running.
If you get a chance to watch this on video, it is even more impressive than you would think off the time OR splits
It is totally solo and they got no help at all really from their own guy Lampron on other Nova squad who ran over 58 seconds the first 400M . Williamsz was 58.8 I was told to 400M. 1:53.5 coming in.
I think this is the most likely scenario if Denault is not in the DMR.
However, then after Solis who (I believe) was a former w-o, you have two newcomers, a true frosh and another listed frosh (who may have soph eligibility as someone on the Nova site pointed out), running the second and third legs.
Despite that, I suspect they will run well again.
It becomes more interesting at Penn when McEntee can come into play with Denault, unless McEntee is concentrating solely on longer distances this spring.

I agree at nationals they would most likely run williamsz anchor. I dont consider it a slam dunk though. The opening leg is crucial to success, but i agree Williamsz will anchor.
The above statement may be true but plenty of guys run the DMR mile double every single year. It happens frequently.
Solis was/is a walk on who ran 4:25 in HS.
He may be on scholarship now, but for bulk of his career has been a non scholarship runner , certainly NOT full scholarship money runner, who walked on originally. One of the great stories for any team. I think if healthy he will break 4 minutes at some point, which is really amazing. he is also very very tough.
Slade just ran big in his first U.S. race at 1:49 split at PSU DMR race, not giving in despite being in no man's land almost , I would expect him to actually improve a bit by NCAA's
Muhammad ran 1:18.xx 600 in his first college race and then beat Watkins at 1:50.82, I think he can run 47 flat
I would not be too concerned with or about McEntee. Although he does have outdoors left.
Like I said in another thread
Solis 2:51
Muhammad 47 (3:38)
Williamz 1:46 (5:24)
DeNault 3:56 (9:20)
9:22 w/ milliseconds
The 1200m seems to be Solis's best distance, he's split 2:51 before which is superior to a 1:49 and much superior to a 4:01
Muhammad can run a slightly faster 400, 47 low compared to 47 high
Williamz can run 1:46, this saves 2-3 compared to anyone else on the team running the 800m leg
Yes, Williamz has a faster 1500m PR than DeNault, but DeNault has proven himself now, 3:59 low mile and a solo 3:57.4 here, he can go 3:56 w/ competition
