I certainly think Joe has a shot. If he is 4th or 5th and I only picked him 7th I won't be embarrassed. Also, Max's course was club xc, not USA xc.
You guys are totally underestimating Jake Riley who will win this. The Hansons are going to tear it up. Riley, Hrezi, Curtis, Gregg......in that order with Riley in the #1 spot.
Not sure why True isn't getting more love. Don't forget that less than a year ago True put ~15 seconds on Derrick in the last mile of the USA 15k Champs with a blazing last 800 or so.
As far as I know, both have been healthy and training well. I see both as good cross country runners, so I give the slight edge to True.
I don't think Ritz will be able to kick away from them, and I doubt he can out-run them with a few miles left. He and Riley will duke it out for third.
1. True
2. Derrick
3. Ritz
4. Riley

Agreed. It's going to come down to True and Derrick, with Ritz a strong 3rd.
The race is at altitude.

I agree. This seems like a race with 2 guys who are easily the favorites in Derrick and True. The winner will be one of them. I'm picking Derrick just because I'm rooting for him

Like I said, I am not a boastful sort of guy. But it is true that my intelligence vastly exceeds yours. Not a boast, just a fact.
Your insecurity reeks with both jealously and desperation. Rest assured of one thing for the rest of your entire life, no one will ever accuse you of being intelligent. Not an opinion, just a fact. Off to your basement peabrain.

While Ritz did make the 2004 Olympic team, it was only because enough people in front of him in the 10k declined their spots. Granted he ran poorly at the trials (or did he DNF?) due to his stress fracture. If he was fully healthy, he likely could have been top three. So while he failed to automatically qualify, he made it in since Meb and (Culpepper?) gave up their spots. Browne doubled and bombed in the marathon.

How cute. Pretending you are multiple people. Simple fact is that there is no way that more than one person could be so moronic.
I know I'm not that bright, but simply put, I'm a d*ck loser and always have been.
You're wrong knucklehead. Have the mods check. I posted this because I read the thread and it's obvious you're a loser with no friends. Go get some!

Five guys who met the standard ran the trials: Meb, Abdi, Browne, Ritz, and Kennedy. Meb, who won the trials, had made it clear that he was only running the marathon, which turned out to be a wise choice! Abdi and Browne, who came in second and third, ran the Olympics in the 10 (and Browne double as you point out). Kennedy did not finish. So Ritz, running with a stress fracture, by dint of finishing (22nd, and last of those who finished), made the team.
