A fight you can kind of expect. But this? C'mon Seattle, this is just primitive.

I really tried to give football a chance this year. And, as a whole, the game was very exciting. But that brawl 30 seconds before the end of the game... Like, was that *really* necessary? It wasn't even just a few guys; from the camera it looked like everyone was in on it. Yes, the play call was terrible, but you deal with it and play your best to the end. It's called sportsmanship. I feel like now what could have been a celebration of athletic achievement is going to be nothing, because all the media's going to focus on is the fight in the light of recent controversy over the NFL. And to make it worse they did several whole instant replays of the fight...? That shouldn't even be shown on the TV coverage. This sucks. Thoughts?
why are you so sensitive about a fight in a football game? Do you sashay when you walk? Geez..

Took me a minute freaking hilarious! !

Agree. I was rooting for Seattle but lost a lot of respect for them for instigating. Doesn't matter what the opponent says to you, play with class.
Going into the playoffs I was rooting for "anyone but Seattle". Pete Carroll is one of my least favorite people in sports. The whole team takes on his persona, as a classless bunch (Wilson being the exception - I actually like him a lot). Seeing the way they imploded and lost all discipline validated my thoughts going into the game. I was happy they did it on a national stage for everyone to see.
Ironically for me, Carroll handled the loss with grace and said all the right things. He earned some respect from me during his post-game press conference (not that he gives a hoot what I think about him, obviously). The offensive coordinator came off very poorly after the game though, putting the blame on the receiver instead of himself. The wheels seemed to come off after the game for Seattle with players blaming coaches and vice versa. Hopefully this carries over into next season and I won't have to see them in another Super Bowl.
My tinfoil hat theory is that Pete Carroll told his defense to start fight after the encroachment penalty in the hopes that one member of the Pats would do something REALLY stupid (Punch a ref, bash a guy's head in, etc.) and the refs would be forced to penalize the Pats. And possibly giving the Hawks another shot at the ball. (If the ball got backed up to the 1 yd line and Brady was sacked in the end zone)
If a Hawk said something to a Patriot that caused him to flat out punch him, and a brawl ensued where a Patriot player did something extremely violent, it would look to all the world like the Pats instigated and caused serious physical harm to their opponent 20 seconds from victory.
You just knew that blacks would be the instigators. Tragic how they care for rules
Give the seahawks a break, they can no longer hit their wives, they have to hit someone.

Exactly! All this BS about playing with class and sportsmanship ... what a bunch of panty-wearing sissies. This was Football, not running.
The Seahawks were pissed!
They lost control.
The entire city and fans are made up of the wimpiest bunch of fair-weather pu$$ies in the entire country.
The Seahawks are low-rent in victory. What'd you expect out of them in a crushing defeat? Some of their post-game interviews were awesome. Bennet saying the reporter never did anything more strenuous than lifting a microphone. I'd think Roger would want to have a talk with him about that.
Low class coach begets low class team.
OP, you sound like a monumental douche.
Actually, I was surprised it took until the last minute for a fight to break out. You could see it brewing from the very beginning. These teams really hated each other.
