Anyone think Salazar regrets putting Cam in that race? From a mile in it was evident that Galen was seriously struggling and Cam was as smooth and relaxed as I've seen him. I'm surprised Galen didn't step off the track with 400 to go. Struggling badly and not well. Hope it's just a case of overtraining this week for Milrose.

I definitely thought about that race and mentioned it to Rojo on the phone as we were discussing the meet. I'm not overly alarmed about Rupp, but compared to his indoor form of 2013 and 2014, this wasn't encouraging. Still, no need to overreact to one race.

It would not be shocking to find out that Rupp was fighting a cold or other crud of the season.

So let me lay it out for you: Rupp has run a very fast indoor mile (3:50.92). His outdoor 1500 pb (3:34.15) is much faster than Levins' (3:36.88). He has also proven in Olympic and World Championship finals that he has better closing speed than Rupp.
Based on everything we knew until today, you'd expect Rupp to beat Levins over the final lap or two.
Having seen Cam's sprint finish in XC and other races, i agree, i think his speed is top notch, as long as he hasn't gone too lactic for a hard finish. His leg muscles have been biopsied and apparently they have freakishly high stiffness/return, leading to good sprinting.

Anyone notice that in the last corner Blankenship puts one foot off the track! No impedance, he was just plain tired i think! Is this grounds for DQ? Or is a runner allowed one foot off if it has no material affect on the race?

Great run by Hasay, her speed is looking better and better. Wasn't Abby D. supposed to run in that race? Anyone know what is going on with her? Been interested to see what kind of progress she's had but she doesn't seem to be in many races and the ones she's had since graduation don't inspire too much confidence. Marielle Hall didn't look too bad in the race.

40 points on the IAAF table not significantly better. The numbers are in the THOUSANDS. So in the real world, those performances ARE almost equal. But you didn't even know about the IAAF tables until I mentioned them. So your initial post is still wrong. You were basing your statements on nothing.
You also have poor reading comprehension. I didn't say he was really a miler. I said he was a 1500/5000 guy. I also never said I knew more about running than all of them.
Why would I write a letter to them? Why are you saying bye?
