Holy Moley, Cam coulda gone 3:52 for sure. Made that look stupid easy.
Really impressive for a 10K guy on the boards in January.
Cam goes 13:05-ish or 27:15-ish this year.

I wonder if Rupp bailed on the mile because he didn't want to get beat by Levins
While you are watching, read this recap of SHannon Rowbury's 4:22 mile.
Al Sal's boys and girls are on fire early in 2015:

NOP has not been messing around so far.

He isn't a 10k guy. He has always been more of a 1500/5000 guy
Cain 2:02.75 very labored. Fast paced. 5th. Ajee wins it in 2:01
Hardly any talk about Wilson before the race, didn't start hearing about her until 200m in, when they had someone else confused for her. Weird that you wouldn't highlight the 1:57 runner.

Ahh! Link seems to be down. Disaster strikes!

That was consumate racing. But the link stopped working! Are we missing the 2-mile? NOOOO
203.75. Cain is not in good conditioning. Sick at finish throwing up.

2 mile doesn't start until 5:44. But yeah, the link is down. Shit.

The one that's hanging out of her shorts. Are you even watching? She is very good looking for a distance girl.
That's a product of the shorts, who anyone would hang out of. Flat rump.
I thought I was watching a track meet, not a Nike Oregon Project promo. All the hype about Mary Cain and other NOP runners, and not a mention of Ajee Wilson until they are on the starting line. Wilson shuts them up with a strong win and Cain is no factor in 6th.

^This. I had written a longer post complaining and then erased it. If we are to assume the announcers are more intelligent than others we have had, why does this happen?

A 27 second first lap- wth was that? Did someone request that? I guess thats the way to beat NOP trained athletes.
We're working on our meet recaps as it happens. Here's our quick take from the men's mile.
Quick Take #1: A very good result for Levins who has a 27:27 10,000 pb.
Coach Alberto Salazar has become regarded as one of the world’s best coaches mainly because he’s found away to make distance men like Mo Farah and Galen Rupp much faster. It looks like Levins is well on his way to developing lethal speed as this was a massive pb for him. His mile pb coming in was a modest 3:57.16.
Outdoors, his 1500 pb is 3:36.88 which equates to about 3:54.2 for the mile. For Levins to basically equal his lifetime best indoors off a very slow pace is clearly a very good result.

That's funny, cuz just yesterday, in a video interview, he said he thinks of himself as more of a 10K guy.
And his 10K PR is clearly his best mark, even though it's almost 3 years old.
But I'm sure you, and the other LR geniuses, know better than he does.
