IAAF is seeking to have the ban extended to four years,
IAAF also filed an appeal, requesting that the athlete’s period of ineligibility be increased to 4 years, due to aggravating circumstances which it argues warrant an extended period of ineligibility. What can the aggravating circumstances be? Has there turned up more positives in retests? Is there something in her bio passport profile too? Was she positve for more substances than EPO?
http://www.tas-cas.org/en/general-information/news-detail/article/two-appeals-filed-in-the-case-of-rita-jeptoo.htmlWith her appeal, Ms Jeptoo filed an application to stay the execution of the challenged decision. Ms Jeptoo requests this stay in order to be able to resume training and to be able to participate in IAAF competitions during the CAS proceedings.
Not that I'm against the a 4-year ban for Jeptoo, but I'm still bitter - why did Tyson Gay only get 1 year for using steroids? What did he do that was so freaking great, besides blame his coach?
