Part of the NFL's investigation came out: turns out the "rogue" ball boy for New England was actually just in the bathroom for 90 seconds taking a piss.
CBS boston report: The NFL officials did NOT use a pressure gauge prior to the game.
Several NFL game attendants:
1) Officials don't always use a gauge to measure the psi prior to a game. They feel the laces, squeeze it, etc.
2) Common NFL practice for ALL TEAMS is prepare the footballs how their QB wants them. Then they bring them to the check in, and the officials either pass the balls, or they add or remove air to the balls. Some QB's try to have lower psi, others higher. This is even backed up by an Aaron Rodgers quote:
Rodgers says he gets upset when the officials remove air from the footballs during inspection. This can only mean that he brings them to inspection ABOVE the allowed 13.5. Once again, this is all common practice.
All of this blew up due to Patriot haters who jumped on an opportunity to be ignorant. Maybe the discussion can move to the actual game now.
