So I checked the race and I don't see any limping at 31k. it looks more like Kenny B is slowing down a liitle. I mean to stop exactly at 30k would be to obvious.
Maybe it was planned that he will only run the full course if he felt really good.
I am not sure, hard to see if he is relaxed or not.
He defintly didn't look struggeling at 1.20..
Do you guys see Kenny struggeling, not looking relaxed??
Renato:
"However when I saw him running today he did not look relaxed, he looked tight. And I think this is the reason why he developed hamstring problems. Something must have happened in the final few days before the race,” said the Italian coach. “We now have to solve this tendon problem. But for his future marathon career I remain very confident. I think he will do really w...."
"seems like Renato has given up posting on LR and releases his comments via Alberto Stretti's blog, can't blame him for that considering the flaming he would get here the LR forum."
-THIS. Why in the world a running site administrator would allow clueless trolls to run off one of the coaches of some of the best in the world is beyond me. Talk about a couple of stumblebums.

Who are you to say they're trolls or clueless? lol
Canova has demonstrated that he's full of garbage and horse manure; "...epo doesn't work on Kenyans." Considering what's happened the past year or so, and the fact that finally some people have broken the PC barrier pointing out that E. Africans have avoided out of season and most spot tests for over 25 years and we have one heck of a situation. And people like Canova do nothing to rectify it but make up fables. Fables they hope will keep them collecting shekels for a little while longer as a not insignificant number of athletes under their charge get away with doping.
He looked ok to me, slower than the others for sure, but not limping...
I am very disappointed that the race director and elite athlete coordinator for Dubai Marathon did not consider diversity on the athletes invitations. Ethiopians are great runners but not the only ones on the global athletic arena. We have good Kenyans, Americans, Ugandans, British and etc, why three quarter of Ethiopians on the race. Dubai Marathon is Ethiopian Marathon. Stop Kidding us by including Kenyan mediocre runners and pace makers to pretend they are diverse. Its even crazy they brought Haile Gebrselassie to cheer Ethiopians not play a good role of announcer!

Perhaps the Ethiopians were cheaper by the dozen.

I know, it is seriously pathetic. Only one of 2 answers:
A) The brojos just think it's too much work policing the idiots and trying to keep them banned or deleting their posts, and it's easier to just not care and just let it be (yet somehow they had an incredible vigilance in deleting posts that spoke ill of close family friends like Laura Bush or W during run-ups to his elections. Somehow it was worth their trouble then)
B) they know that allowing the trolls/idiots to post = more advertising $'s, and that's simply more important to them than running a respectable RUNNING site with world class coaches giving them and their website followers inside, fantastic training information.

Because they have for a long time done the same thing on the front page of the LR web site.

Eeeeeexaaactly!
This forum is 90% troll/childish because it's anonymous posting (thanks to one guy that wont update his site to slow the insults down). Why would he come here after being shit on even if a lot of us appreciate his posts? I wouldn't. Because I owe nothing to people on here.
Agreed, and well said. Bad move.
Are people ever going to wake up to the fact that Canova is as dirty as they come and that the idea that he's some kind of coaching genius is founded entirely on his latching on to athletes who are already world-class? He's a hothead, says nothing original about marathon training, and babbles almost senselessly (even allowing for his lack of facility with English) about physiology in a manner that comes across as word salad to anyone with a genuine ex-phys or medical background. Hopefully he'll decide he's done well enough as a shameless pimp soon and just retire and disappear.
Kinda fitting the twits in this hellhole look at him not only admiringly but as if he's a god. Bring back JK and forget this evil Italian clown.

Agree with all this. He loses all credibility from his comments on dope. Only a fool would trust him.
You'd have to be insane to take him seriously on the topic of peds

I've always heard Dubai doesn't pay travel or appearance fees, which is why the prize purse is so big. If Kenyans want to run, they can. It's just on their dime.

If it is true, it is weird that Canova only revealed he was the coach of the winner of the Dubai marathon after he had one the race. If that runner had bombed the race and shuffled in to run something like ~2-15 would it be revealed that Canova was his coach?

IF the E. Africans have been "protected" with respect to doping it will have had nothing to do with PC. It will have been likely due to the fact that E. African distance runners are big cash cow for influential European agents and coaches.
