The race is really getting going now. 2:55 last k, Tariku Robi has taken the lead and is pushing the pace. Pack of 6, Desisa and Feyisa Lilesa are in there too.

My computer crashed. i got back up just in time to see Bekele get dropped.
I wonder if his appearance fee has a 30 or 35k stipulation in it.
At 30k, the leaders are on 2:05:05 pace.
Did he get a huge appearance fee, regardless of placing, and/or a DNF?
They said he wants toe show at London too.

If this was a marathon on the track, KB could come back from getting lapped and win it all!
Well it IS kind of a marathon on a track, isn't it? With the flat, loop course, pacers and all.

LOL at all the fat Indian women walking their way to a 7 hour marathon on the other side of the road.
Women's race looks more interesting right now.
Not really a solo run if you have a pace car.
Pace car is about 60 yards ahead of her. She's not getting any drag effect from it. Are you saying running alone, but with a clock ahead of you doesn't constitute a solo run ?!
Not gonna nitpick. She's run alone for the entire race, and has looked incredibly compact, powerful and smooth the entire way. A great run.
Bahrain ! LOL
The lead me seem to have slowed. They're bunched again.
Are we seeing talent disappear in real time?
Kenny looks pudgy compared to those in the lead group.

But if it was on an actual track he would be able to use his zoom victories
Men's lead pack is Tariku Robi, Lelisa Desisa, Feyisa Lelisa, Lemi Hayle, Mule Wasihun (debut), Sisay Lemma.
Will we see another surprise winner in Dubai? Desisa and Lelisa are the only real known quantities.
Interesting to hear him. I guessed he had a deeper voice.
this broadcast and coverage is pretty solid. better than the local networks! just racing and no side shows and commercials. awesome. thanks!
Guy in the back in red will win; can't remember his name
33rd km 3:00
They've got Haile Geb on the air!
Eversport just won the internet!

To be honest, I have been thinking the same thing since the gun went off.

You say 'marathon on a track' like it's a bad thing. The best track and field event is the 10000 and the Dubai Marathon is sick. It's balls to the wall. It's probably harder to run than those aforementioned.
I've run both Dubai and New York and sorry, New York is harder.
"Mule" is a pretty sweet name.
Lead woman looked like she went through 30km in 1:38:46

Fat Indian women? Were they in sarees?
What's a saree ?
Geb sounds like he's 60 years old. Glad he got in the booth though.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
