The only other explanation that I can think of is that since the Patriots crushed the Colts for the past 4 games by running the ball with a running back that some other team kicked to the curb, they decided to let air out of the ball so that Luck would have a chance of keeping it close. Oops. Maybe next time they should just play 10 a side.
